Ever wondered what takes place during kids theatre workshops? Or, what exactly goes on during children’s speech and drama classes and how it benefits them?
Parents now have a unique opportunity to lift the veil (or should we say, stage curtain) on what takes place during children’s theatre workshops at the MindChamps ACA Kids Theatre Preview Workshop in December 2017.
MindChamps + ACA = ACA Kids In Singapore
MindChamps has partnered with Actors Centre Australia (ACA) to bring the ACA Kids programme to Singapore.

Among the notable ACA alumni is actor Hugh Jackman who graduated from ACA in 1991.
In 2007, Mr Jackman became the patron of ACA and had this to say of the ACA Kids programme in Singapore, “I’m thrilled ACA is expanding and opening our youth wing. To nurture and encourage young creative minds and spirits is such as gift.”
The ACA Kids programme is being led by Mr Dean Carey, the founder of the Actors Centre Australia and one of Australia’s leading theatre educators. He has been appointed as MindChamps’ Dean of Theatre.
ACA Kids Programme – Steps Towards The Theatre Stage
ACA Kids programme aims to instil confidence, self-awareness and creativity in children. It caters to children between the ages of 3 to 9 years old.
For 3 to 4 year olds, children will be taught to express themselves through various theatrical forms. They will learn to work together with others while developing gross motor skills through drama, songs and games.
The programme for 5 to 6 year olds takes it up a notch. Kids learn how to better communicate through role-play, develop the ability to present in front of an audience and get a boost to their oral communication skills.
Children between 7 to 9 years old experience even more as they dig deeper into drama and stories while unlocking their imagination and self-awareness.
Lessons are offered on a termly basis with 10 lessons per term.
Parents Get to Test Drive The Theatre Experience At MindChamps ACA Kids Theatre Preview Workshop
Now, parents who are considering sending their children to the ACA Kids programme can “test drive” the experience first.
On Saturday, 9 December 2017, parents can join in a two-hour MindChamps ACA Kids Theatre Preview Workshop to discover what their child will learn at ACA Kids.
At the workshop, parents will go through acting and role-playing experiences. They will gain an appreciation of how theatre can play a role in building up a child’s self-esteem and develop critical thinking skills.
Best of all, parents who attend the 9 December 2017 MindChamps ACA Kids Theatre Preview Workshop will receive a free pass for their kids (3 to 6 years old) to experience a trial class too! Two workshops for the price of one!
The MindChamps ACA Kids Theatre Preview Workshop will be held at MindChamps HQ and is strictly for parents only. It costs only $38 per couple. Register here.
