Even in this age of Google Maps, the ability to read and interpret a map is a useful skill. It increases spatial awareness and the ability to identify objects.
Online Map Reading Class for Kids
PAssion WaVe @ Jurong Lake Gardens has organised an upcoming online instructional class for at kids to teach them how to read a map. They will learn steps on what to do if they find themselves in an unknown environment with just a map.
At the online course, How to Read a Map & Be Aware of the Environment (For Kids), which will be conducted over Zoom, participants will learn the fundamentals of identifying key objects on a map.
They will also learn how to align that map to what they see on the ground and try plotting a route to get them from where they are to where they want to go.

This online course over Zoom takes place on 17 June 2021, from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. It will be conducted by Six Five Adventure Pte. Ltd., an outdoor skills and training company.
