Rising up like a cluster of precious mineral deposits, the Jurong West Jewel playground is a little gem where kids can have fun climbing up and down a pair of towers and exploring various play equipment.
Fun at the Jurong West Jewel Playground
There are two Jurong West Jewel playgrounds, one more suited to older kids and another one that caters to the younger age set.
The larger Jurong West Jewel playground is made up of two towers, joined together by a narrow enclosed bridge at the upper levels.
The towers have an angular design that reminds us of a cluster of mineral deposits. Alternatively, you can think of them as industrial structures with their pipes and columns exposed.
An opened slides twirls down from the higher tower. An orange, double slide is attached to the neighbouring tower.
There are several fun ways to enter the towers. These range from a regular set of stairs to footholds that have been incorporated into the design of the towers.
A little hammock and climbing discs hang underneath the playground structure.
A set of swings stands ready beside the play towers.
This Jurong West Jewel playground can be found in front of Block 992B, Upper Jurong Road.
Second Jurong West Jewel Playground
At the other end of the garden at Jurong West Jewel, there is another playground, this one for younger children.
Also featuring a tower, this one is lower in height but still manages to include a tunnel bridge and pair of slides.
Musical play panels are fitted to the play structure. These include a pair of hand drums.
An interesting feature here is a four-person seesaw. This comes with four seats so that riders can comfortably enjoy rocking up and down.
An unusual green structure stands in the corner. Kids can use their imagination to think up what it could be.
This second play area is located in front of Block 991, the multi-storey car park.
Fun in the Neighbourhood
The playgrounds at Jurong West Jewel provide kids living the area with a play spot where they can get together and have some fun.
We also liked how the jewel theming is carried through with the seating in the garden as well.
