It has been some time since the Istana has had an open house where there was no need to pre-book tickets before heading down. That’s why the Istana Labour Day – Hari Raya Puasa Open House on 7 May 2022 is significant as it returns to the old format where visitors can enter the Istana grounds with pre-booking.
Istana Labour Day-Hari Raya Puasa Open House 2022
The Istana Labour Day – Hari Raya Puasa Open House on 7 May 2022 takes place from 9 am to 5 pm. Those who wish to enter in can do so during this time and admission to the Istana grounds is free.
This change in the Istana Open House format is thanks to the easing of safe management measures on 26 April 2022.
In addition, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, visitors will be able to purchase admission passes to enter the Istana Main Building. Inside, they will be able to view selected function rooms and gifts which have been received by the State. The fees for admission to the Istana Main Building start from $2. Fees collected will go towards charities supported by the President’s Challenge. Take note that masks will need to be worn while in the Istana Main Building.
There will also be souvenirs and merchandise on sale during the Istana Labour Day – Hari Raya Puasa Open House 2022. Proceeds will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.
Stay Safe When Visiting the Istana Labour Day-Hari Raya Puasa Open House 2022
One thing which will be missing from this Open House is the usual slate of performances. There will not be any tours or food trucks operating at the Open House.
Safe distancing ambassadors will be out and about and those who are visiting are advised to observe safe management measures.
