Are you game for a “classic” but huge family-friendly amusement park packed with tons of outdoor and indoor activities? Dream World Bangkok, Thailand is a whole-day family affair with over 40 different rides, shows and attractions, carnival game stores, market shops and food stalls.

Dream World Bangkok, ThailandAdditional attractions within Dream World Bangkok include a Water Park and Snow Town. Both of these attractions require the appropriate outfits when one visits, although the latter does provide free loans of winter jackets and boots.

Dream World Bangkok is located in Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. To get there was a 40-minute drive from the Bangkok city centre.

We had booked our admission tickets (flashed our Klook e-voucher at the Information kiosk instead of the usual ticketing counters for a special entry sticker that afforded free limitless rides) with a simple Thai buffet lunch and Snow Town pass package from Klook online, a good combi-ticket deal.

With a comprehensive map of Dream World Bangkok in hand, we headed off to experience the amusement park’s exciting rides (which include three rollercoasters) and attractive sights.

There was so much to do that we could not finish all the attractions in a day.

Dream World Plaza and Dream Gardens – Landscaped Gardens, Bicycle Boats and Seven Wonders

Passing through the souvenir shops by the entrance, we arrived on the main streets of Dream World Plaza. This part of the park included the flowery Love Garden and the picturesque Dream Gardens zone.

Pedal Boats, Dream World BangkokAt the centre of the Gardens was a large tranquil lake with quirky-looking Pedal Boats. The boats provided a lovely glide on water but also required a bit of hard work that got our day going!

One section of the Gardens features miniatures of the Wonders of the World. There were the Taj Mahal, Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Great Wall of China – great for photo-taking.

Weekend visitors to the park would also be able to catch The Colours of the World, an afternoon parade of costumed characters that takes place beside the lake.

Travelling High – Cable Cars and Monorail

View from the cable carAt the Cable Car Station (an alternative to the monorail option), we boarded a cable car to continue our exploration of Dream World Bangkok. The cable car took us high up and afforded a bird’s eye view of the park’s various sections such as the Dream Gardens, Adventure Land and Fantasy Land.

Snow Town – Snow Fights and Sleigh Rides

After alighting from the cable car, we proceeded to tackle Dream World Bangkok’s Snow Town first as it closes earlier than the rest of the theme park.

Snow Town’s indoor arctic playspace, Dream World BangkokSnow Town’s indoor arctic playspace, along with occasional snow falls, was absolutely fun for the kids.

Slides at Snow TownThe speedy slides were also exciting for the children. Not unexpectedly, Snow Town was cold – the temperature was a freezing minus five degrees Celsius.

A word of caution – the winter jackets provided at Snow Town are rather thin and there are no gloves available. If you are intending to visit Dream World Bangkok’s Snow Town, we suggest to come prepared with long pants and an additional layer that can be removed when you head outdoors later.

Nonetheless, we had a blast inside Snow Town, sliding around and taking photos at the igloo, and with arctic animals and snowman sculptures. Before long, it was time to escape back outside and thaw under the warm sunlight!

Adventure Land Favourites – Bumper Boats and Thunder Birds

Bumper BoatsAt Adventure Land, the children got to enjoy playing with bumper boats, colliding into each other and us too! We found ourselves spinning across the water in a fit of silly fun.

Thunderbird rideThe kids also went on magical flights on the space-themed Thunderbird ride – and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Carnival Games and Funfair Food

Playing carnival games at Dream World BangkokWinning not one but THREE bonus stuffed toy prizes at the game stalls really made the children’s day.

Popcorn standThe icing on the cake was a load of crisp, buttery popcorn and fluffy cotton candy, which the kids walloped with glee.

Kid (Only) Rides

Toddlers and below can also enjoy some of the milder “kiddy” rides at Dream World Bangkok. These included the Indian Boat and Flying Fish. Since there was a maximum (rather than minimum) height restriction of 120cm and below, only my five-year-old could ride in a Monza train of connected kiddy cars going up and down a sloped track, while we waved at her. She had fun and felt very grown up!

Thunderbird ride, Dream World Bangkok Amusement ParkOther rides included the Ferris-wheel-like Crazy Bus and Speedy Mouse rollercoaster for children accompanied by parents. My gung-ho girl went for this twice with her Daddy!

Adrenaline-rush Rides for Adults

Dream World Bangkok’s Sky Coaster RollercoasterAfter the tame kiddy rides, Daddy decided to go on Dream World Bangkok’s Sky Coaster on his own. The kids happily cheered him on while his legs dangled in mid-air!

Other hair-raising rides at Dream World Bangkok include Tornado Spin, Super Splash Boat Slide, Viking, Go-Kart Race, Haunted Mansion, Black Hole Roller Coaster and Hurricane. Unfortunately, we ran out of time but there was plenty for thrillseekers to enjoy.

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon, Dream World BangkokOne ride which we all went on was Grand Canyon. It can be described in one word – WET! Fortunately, we had disposable raincoats on hand. We garbed ourselves and sat back for the drenching boat trip down the water rapids!

Uncle Tom’s Farm

Uncle Tom's FarmThis was a treat! We got up close with birds and animals, including a peafowl, ducks, cockerels and chickens, parrots, rabbits, goats, sheep, lambs and cows. There were also cute but loud puppies that kept chasing one another all around us!

Farm at Dream World BangkokBirdseed and carrot sticks were available for purchase at the entrance for 20THB. These levelled-up the interactivity factor of Uncle Tom’s farm by allowing the kids to hand-feed the friendly yet hungry animals.

Photopia

As evening approached, we managed to spend some time taking photos around Dream World Bangkok!

Photo opportunities at Dream World BangkokWe snapped shots as we took a leisurely walk through Fantasy Land and its fairy tale-themed structures. There was the Dragon’s Castle with roaring sound effects, the Giant House, Shoe and Fruit-Vegetable patch, Cinderella’s Carriage, Hobbit House exterior and a Sword in the Stone!

Dream World Railroad

We ended the day with a final train ride around the lake area and winding down after a full day of fun.

Shows

We wished we had more time to catch the 20-25-minute shows (held once daily during the week and thrice daily on weekends) at Dream World Bangkok. These shows are held at specific time slots and include a Live Animal Show and a Hollywood Action show.

Dream World Bangkok was great old-school fun for the children (and us too). It holds something for everyone, whether young or old. We noticed that a number of locals even brought along their puppies (in special frontpacks and strollers) and cats to the park.

When in Bangkok again, we most definitely intend to go back to Dream World Bangkok!
