September is a big month for the River Safari’s famous panda pair. Jia Jia will be celebrating her fifth birthday on 3 September and Kai Kai turns six on 14 September. 6 September is also the first anniversary of their arrival on Singaporean shores.
To celebrate this “triple-happiness” occasion, River Safari has planned a week-long “Panda Party” from 7 to 15 September.
Special activities taking place include Guided Tours of the Giant Panda Forest, a kid’s Panda Trail Activity Sheet, Panda-themed Art and Craft, and a special Panda Awareness Booth where visitors can feel the teeth of a giant panda and even get a whiff of panda poop, if so inclined.
These activities will take place at the entrance to the Giant Panda Forest at the River Safari.

Sweet Birthday Treats
For the occasion, Mama Panda Kitchen, already famous for its panda paus, will be serving up new sweet treats. From 6 to 8 September, purchases of a set meal will be accompanied by a panda birthday cake and Mama Panda Kitchen will also have panda cupcakes, cookies, pineapple shortcakes and chocolate custard paus.
Merchandise, including a birthday edition bath towel, tote bags and a new range of plush toys will also be on offer at discounted rates during the Panda Party Week.
