Jewel Changi Airport attract plenty of families with its entertainment and family-friendly amenities such as Canopy and Changi Experience Studio. For those looking for a free playground for kids where they can have some simple fun, there is now the West Gateway Playground, a free play spot for kids.
West Gateway Playground at Jewel Changi Airport
The West Gateway Playground is a little play area for kids at Jewel Changi Airport, located on the second floor. It is located on the floor below the link bridge that leads to Changi Airport Terminal 3.
While there were previously some play structures at this spot, it has recently been updated with a new jungle-themed playground for kids.
Stepping into the little alcove, you will be greeted by the sight of a smiling crocodile and two “trees” – one to the left and another to the right.

The tree on the left has a little raised platform that kids use a ladder to climb up to.
It is a little tree clubhouse with portraits of cats decorating the inside. A hammock swing at the bottom level provides a spot for kids to swing and sway.
Head Across the Croc
From the tree, kids can climb down some steps and make their way to leaf stepping stones that lead to the the friendly croc.
Keep on heading in the direction of that the croc is facing and across bright red mushroom steps to reach the second tree.
This second tree is another low play structure that kids can explore and have some simple fun at.
From the top platform, they can survey the rest of the Jewel West Gateway Playground. Once they are done doing so, there is a slide that they can use to swoosh downwards and make their way around the rest of play area.
The bottom of this second tree hides a network of ropes that little ones can traverse across.
Other Play Elements at the Jewel Changi Airport West Gateway Playground
There are also low play panels at the rear of the tree stumps that kids can play with. The tactile play panels allow kids to have fun shifting markers around or trying to solve a mini maze. They can also find another play panel at the rear of the crocodile ramp.
At the two ends of the playground there are zebra stripped sound tubes. Kids can whisper secret messages to each other across the playground using the black and white sound tubes.
Another feature of the West Gateway Playground are the little garden trails at the rear of the playground, adjacent to the window panes. Fitted with large paving stones, these paths provide a spot for young kids and toddlers to take an easy jaunt.
The West Gateway Playground at Jewel Changi Airport is designed for children ages 2 to 5 years old.
If you are still having trouble finding the West Gateway Playground, you can look for the Tim Ho Wan restaurant on the second floor. The play area is just beside the restaurant.
