The Weekend Market at Tengah
The main marketplace is filled with fresh green vegetables. You can find the freshly grown produce laid out at the main shed. In addition, the Weekend Market also stocks with produce such as root vegetables.
There is also a section where you can purchase dry goods at the weekend market.
Behind the bustle of the marketplace, you can view the farm where vegetables are grown. Unfortunately, this section of the farm is closed off and only open to those on guided tours.
The Weekend Market at Kok Fah Technology Farm is open to the public for sale of vegetables on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 am to 5 pm.
Fish Feeding and Animals
Children who are visiting the Weekend Market will be entertained by the animals kept on the premises.
These include birds like cockatoos kept in the aviaries behind the main shed.
There is even a turkey.
Don’t miss the section at one end of the shed where you may be able to find find the birds on display.
Especially popular with kids is the Weekend Market’s koi pond where kids can feed the fish. However, do take not that you are not allowed to feed the fish with your own food. Instead, you can purchase a pack of fish food at 50 cents each to feed the fish.
Thoughtfully located beside the koi pond are table and benches where families can sit down for a rest or sort out their purchases.
Weekend Farm even has a decorative plants section with colourful blooms that you can purchase to bring home.
For those who are interested to learn more about the farming that takes place at Kok Fah Technology Farm, the farm also tours on weekdays. These need to be booked in advance of your visit. It is not open for walk-in visitors.
