Total Defence Exhibition at Singapore Discovery Centre: About Total Defence For Thee
The three-part exhibition celebrates Singapore’s defence story for the past forty years.
In Zone One, visitors will learn about the threats we face, and make the right choices as they encounter various problems.
This will also shape one’s roles in contributing to Total Defence (TD). Read about the six pillars of TD – Economic, Psychological, Social, Military, Civil and Digital Defence.
Then take the quiz and see which hero archetype best matches your personality. Pick up the card that represents your hero archetype! You will need this card to find your way in the maze in Zone 2.
Learn about their unique characteristics and then enter Zone 2 where participants can make their decisions and toss a dice (virtually) to determine their next move. The goal is to eliminate Chaos Chimera, a monster who is wreaking havoc everywhere.
Will you be the hero or heroine who saves the day?
In the final zone, ignite your inner TD hero through though-provoking questions. Step into the spotlight to craft your unique hero, pledge to the cause and pose at the photospot alongside fellow heroes. Collect your pin for a job well done!
Other Activities at Singapore Discovery Centre
Embark on a trail and track down six statues to find keywords that will help solve the secret message. Completion of this earns you one commemorative pin.
Play carnival games at the Total Defence 40 Carnival to win prizes.
The booths are also set up specifically for each pillar of TD. Knock down targets, play five stones, identify items in a first aid kit, come up with a strong password and throw balls into specific cups to take home prizes！
Play laser tag for free at Black Lake Laser Field from 12 pm to 2 pm from 27 to 28 January and 17 to 18 February. It is Singapore’s first laser tag arena to use cutting edge revolutionary projection on a large scale.
Other Singapore Discovery Centre attractions include Through the Lens of Time exhibition, Sandbox, XD Theatre, iWERKS Theatre and the Black Lake escape room.
Collection of Pins
There are four commemorative pins to collect.
Complete the trail around Singapore Discovery Centre to collect the first pin, then collect the second pin at the Total Defence for Thee exhibition. The third pin can be collected upon completion of the feedback form. The fourth can be collected at Singapore Navy Museum, where there will be a small exhibition showcase from 7 February to 17 March 2024.
