AMKFSC Community Services, a community-based social service agency that provides a holistic range of services supporting children, youths, families and seniors.
This free “festival for neighbours by neighbours” will be held under the MRT tracks between Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio and Ang Mo Kio Street 41. It celebrates and showcases the talents of AMKFSC Community Services’ beneficiaries and the community.
Thrive! at the Tracks Community Festival
Thrive! at the Tracks is an opportunity to have fun in the neighbourhood while getting to know more about the community and the work of AMKFSC Community Services.
Here’s a look at what you can expect at Thrive! at the Tracks.
Food Showcase
Try muffins and cookies baked by beneficiaries of AMKFSC Community Services’ Bakery Hearts training programme, or pies by ex-convicts with a passion for cooking.
Beneficiary-owned businesses 6A’s Kitchen and Danish Delights will also be present and showcasing treats like shakshuka and cupcakes.
Workshops
Have a go at a new sport or craft at a workshop led by community members and beneficiaries.
Workshops at Thrive! at the Tracks include sewing and crocheting, balloon sculpting and even learning how to make muruku, the popular South Indian snack.
For those wanting try a new sport, there will be workshops on the art of silat and muay thai.
Mini Games and Challenges
Take part in mini games and challenges at the community festival. Collect stamps as you complete the stations for a chance to win prizes.
Performances
Enjoy performances throughout the day including a multicultural routine by COMNET Senior Service’s senior hip-hop dance crew OTAI, a moving acoustic act by beneficiaries from Youth Infinity, and a moving dance performance by the students of Spright Academy.
Explore the Neighbourhood on a Guided Tour
Go on a guided walking tour around the neighbourhood. The tour will be led by a resident who will share stories about the neighbourhood and its unique characters.
Thrive! at the Tracks takes place on Saturday, 15 July 2023, 10 am to 5 pm at the MRT Walkway between Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio and Ang Mo Kio Street 41.
