The 22 September 2026 opening marks the completion of Singapore Cruise Centre’s transition to a purpose-built facility designed to support the next phase of regional ferry and cruise travel and follows 24 months of development and testing.

The terminal began full operations on 15 July 2026 and has handled more than 720,000 ferry and cruise passengers since then.

Faster and Simpler Journeys for Passengers

The new Singapore Cruise Centre (HarbourFront) terminal has been designed to simplify how passengers move through the facility. It features a more streamlined layout and expanded self-service options.

The passenger waiting areas are approximately 50% larger than those at the former terminal.

For ferry passengers, all operators are now located within the main terminal concourse on a single level, compared with two floors at the former terminal.

Ferry passengers can use automated and hybrid self-service baggage-drop kiosks or staffed service counters, located on Level 1. There are six selfservice baggage-drop machines.

Eligible passengers who have purchased their tickets online can use self-service facilities to validate their passports, check in, and obtain their boarding passes and baggage tags in under a minute, before depositing checked baggage through self-service bag-drop facilities within a similar timeframe.

More than 20 retail and service tenants are planned across the departure and arrival areas. These comprise a mix of existing and new operators and include Anvar’s Café, Old Chang Kee, Subway, 7-Eleven, Tuckshop and Lagardère Travel Retail.

When it comes to baggage handling, there are both self-service and assisted counters. This provides passengers with greater flexibility while retaining support for those who require assistance.

On arrival, checked baggage is now screened before reaching the carousel, allowing passengers to collect their bags and proceed directly towards the exit without a separate X-ray screening step.

For cruise passengers, there is dedicated kerbside baggage drop facilities that allows baggage to be checked in upon arrival. There are also 12 coach bays that facilitate shore excursion transfers. A dedicated VIP lounge provides an additional waiting area for cruise passengers during vessel calls.

Technology to Support the Passenger Journey

There is a new interoperable ferry and cruise passenger departure control system in use at the Singapore Cruise Centre (HarbourFront), developed by SCC in partnership with Sqiva, a travel technology company specialising in passenger transport software.

The boarding system brings ferry and cruise operations onto a common platform, enables passenger information to flow across key stages of the journey, from check-in through to boarding.
