Roald Dahl Day is celebrated on 13 September each year. On this day, the world comes together to remember the amazing storyteller and his incredible stories (which are filled with many memorable quotes).

Born 13 September 1916, the author published his first book in August 1942, A Piece of Cake. His first children’s book The Gremlins was published a year later in 1943.

His books are enduring legacy and the stories still resonate to this day. Earlier in 2020, celebrities even did a reading of James and the Giant Peach to raise funds during the lockdown.

For Roald Dahl Day, here are some of our favourite (sometimes darkly humourous) Roald Dahl quotes.
