Being Easties, we naturally have a handful of favourite family spots we keep returning to on weekends. East Coast Park, Bedok Reservoir Forest Adventure & wakesurfing, Downtown East and Jewel Changi Airport are some places on repeat. Recently, Pasir Ris Swimming Complex quietly found its way onto that list too.

Despite being one of the few feature pools in the east, we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the crowd felt on a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps many Easties gravitate towards Our Tampines Hub and Bedok Swimming Complex instead, leaving Pasir Ris Swimming Complex with a more breathable, easygoing atmosphere for families to truly enjoy the day slowly.

Thrilling Slides at Pasir Ris Swimming Complex

Pasir Ris Swimming Complex 8

As we entered the swimming complex, we were immediately greeted by two thrilling slides. The girls sprang into action right away, eagerly making their way across the wading pool to the other side. But alas, mei mei fell short of the minimum height requirement, so jie jie headed up for the ride on her own instead.

The red slide is located on Level 2, featuring a straightforward plunge into the catchment pool, while the yellow slide starts from Level 3, boasting a 6m height and a 49m long meandering ride down to Level 1.

Min. height requirement: 1.2m
Note: Accessories, watches, goggles, and swimsuits with zippers are NOT  allowed on the slides.

Fun Pool

The younger girl had a blast at the kids’ water playground located right beside the slides. It’s easy for children below 1.2m to navigate, and the various water fountains added extra fun for both my girls.

One of the best things about this swimming complex is its thoughtful layout. Parents can easily keep an eye on older kids at the slides and younger ones at the water playground, all at a single glance.

Jacuzzi (sheltered)

Pasir Ris Swimming Complex 3

Right behind the fun pool is the 0.9m jacuzzi pool. We appreciated the thoughtful touch of having a basket by the side for guests to place their pool toys and goggles before stepping into the jacuzzi.

Simply press the green button beside the steps, sit back, and enjoy a bubbling good time!

Semi sheltered teaching pool

With a depth of 1.05m, the kids were able to play and swim comfortably in this pool, doing flips and racing to touch the floor underwater confidently. The sun was kind on the day we visited, but I could imagine this semi-sheltered pool being a lovely spot to lounge in, alongside the sheltered jacuzzi.

Miscellaneous facilities

I was pleasantly surprised to find two hair dryers in the toilet! There are also lockers available for rent right beside the toilets, as well as a water cooler near the competition pool to help everyone stay hydrated in the heat.

Post Swim Hangout: Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre

We exited the swimming complex and made our way across the sheltered walkway to the two-storey hawker centre for some quick bites. To our delight, our favourite pancake stall, Munchi, was just right at the entrance.

There were even sinks with hand soap dispensers nearby, making it easy for the kids to clean up on their own after eating.

Right beside Pasir Ris Swimming Complex and the hawker centre is Pasir Ris Town Park, complete with a playground and swings. We also spotted a fishing pond within walking distance, and bike rental points (HelloRide and Anywheel) for anyone up for a little cycling adventure.

If you’re lucky, you might even catch squirrels scurrying around or roosters digging for worms nearby.

Just across the park sits White Sands shopping mall and the MRT station, making the whole area incredibly accessible.

Pasir Ris Swimming Complex is a surprisingly charming spot for a laid-back weekend. Not every family day needs to be loud. Sometimes, a quiet Sunday at Pasir Ris is more than enough.
