It is time for the Orchard Road Light Up 2021 and, this year, the theme is Christmas in Bloom. This year, the festive lights along Orchard Road will run from 13 November 2021 to 2 January 2022.
Even though the lights are strung up from Tanglin Road onwards, the centre of the light up is at the Scotts Road and Orchard Road junction. That is where you will find the main arch.
Christmas in Bloom at the Orchard Road Light Up 2021
Standing 12 metres tall, the main arch proudly greets visitors with the words “Christmas in Bloom”. Decorating the Christmas light up arch are poinsettias while a huge Christmas tree stands at the side of the road.

Different flower designs decorate different stretches of the road.
From Tanglin Mall towards Wheelock Place, red poinsettias and rose red arches decorate the road.
Along Orchard Road, there are white Christmas roses along the road while yellow-gold baubles decorate the sidewalk.
Carols on the Street & Giant Projection
While there are no street activities along Orchard Road this year, there are speakers between ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City playing Christmas music.
These tunes play between 5 pm and 10.30 pm daily, and will carry on till 12.30 am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Another thing to look out for at 2021’s Orchard Road Light Up is a giant outdoor video projection. This huge vertical projection occupies the side of Mandarin Orchard.
It will screen a 10-minute show between 8.30 pm to 10.30 daily. The show features Singapore’s tourism mascots Merli and friends. Viewers on Orchard Road can download PopAR, a mobile application, to enhance their viewing experience with immersive augmented reality (AR) effects.
On the eve of Christmas and New Year’s Day, it will also treat visitors to a special countdown segment.
Orchard Road Light Up 2021 Timings
The Orchard Road light up 2021 will come on from 6.30 pm to 12 am on Sundays to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the light up will extend till 2 am. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the lights will be on overnight till 6 am in the morning.
In addition, using a phone or computer, viewers can join the festivities virtually from 19 November 2021, by heading to a microsite featuring 360-degree views along the 3.11 km stretch from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura.
