HYROX, the world’s largest fitness race, has announced the official Asia launch of HYROX Youngstars, its age-adapted race format for young athletes. HYROX Youngstars will be open to participants aged 8 to 15 years old, welcoming a new generation into the sport while giving families more opportunities to experience HYROX together.
HYROX Youngstars
Following earlier trial events globally, HYROX Youngstars was introduced as a permanent race format at HYROX Amsterdam in January 2026. At that time it attracted more than 1,500 young athletes.
Since the inaugural race, there have been HYROX Youngstars races in London, Berlin, Maastricht, Salt Lake City and Oslo.
The regional launch of HYROX Youngstars in Asia follows four years of significant growth for HYROX across APAC, where it first made its regional debut in Hong Kong in 2022 with fewer than 1,000 racers.
AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore
The series will now officially launch in Asia starting with AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore on 28 to 29 November 2026. The event is being held at Singapore EXPO and is expected to welcome approximately 2,000 young participants.
To support children’s development, HYROX Youngstars follows an age-specific format, with movements, repetitions, distances and weights tailored to each age group. These categories are:
- 8 to 9 years old
- 10 to 11 years old
- 12 to 13 years old
- 14 to 15 years old
This ensures every young athlete can take on an appropriate challenge, build confidence and experience the sense of achievement that comes from crossing a HYROX finish line.
HYROX Youngstars Workout Stations
The HYROX Youngstars is adapted from the global HYROX race and it features four age categories. The workout stations include:
- SkiErg: Participants use the ski ergometer until they complete the distance assigned to their age group.
- Sled Push: Participants push a weighted sled across the prescribed distance, with the load and distance varying by age group.
- Sled Pull or Sled Drag: Participants pull or drag a weighted sled across the prescribed distance, depending on their age group.
- Burpee Broad Jumps or Frogger Jumps: Participants aged 10-15 complete chest-to-floor burpees followed by broad jumps, while those aged 8-9 perform frogger jumps.
- Rowing: Participants complete the distance assigned to their age group on a rowing machine.
- Kettlebell Farmers Carry: Participants carry a kettlebell in each hand across the prescribed distance.
- Lunges: Participants perform alternating forward lunges, with athletes aged 12-15 carrying an age-appropriate sandbag.
- Wall Balls or Squats: Participants aged 8-11 complete weighted squats, while those aged 12-15 perform wall balls using prescribed weights and target heights.
Full specifications for each age group are available in the HYROX Youngstars Rulebook.
Jessica Petty, Head of HYROX Youngstars, said, “Launching the first HYROX Youngstars race in Asia, here in Singapore, is an incredibly special moment. Singapore hosted one of our first Youngstars activations in 2024, with the region playing a key role in shaping the race concept and format we now know today. To see it all come full circle with our first race in Asia is something we are incredibly proud of. Youngstars is about giving young people the opportunity to get active, challenge themselves, and build confidence through fitness racing, and we’re so excited we get to bring that experience to children and families across Asia.”
Registration for AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore, for both participants and spectators, goes live on 8 October 2026 via the official HYROX Youngstars Singapore website.
