The lights at Orchard Road are always something to look forward to, and there is more in store for shoppers who flock to the shopping belt for some Christmas shopping.
Christmas on a Great Street: Orchard Road Christmas Light Up 2020
The theme for 2020’s Christmas light up is “Love this Christmas”. Love – what’s kept us afloat during the difficulties and the reason for celebrating and prevailing despite all circumstances.
The Christmas lights at Orchard will be dedicated to frontliners to recognise them for their contributions and sacrifices.
Frontline workers like healthcare personnel, security guards, delivery staff and teachers will get exclusive promotions for shopping, dining and other services. Visitors can also nominate a frontline hero by sharing a story of resilience on the microsite in a contest with prizes to be won.
And for the first time, aside from driving along the 3.1 km stretch from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura, visitors from all around the world can choose to take a virtual 360 tour around Orchard Road.
The Orchard Road Christmas light up 2020 will start on the evening of 13 November 2020 and will end on till 1 January 2021.
Uplifting Spirits with Dazzling Orchard Road Christmas Lights
As a family, we always look forward to the Christmas lights at Orchard. This year, a gigantic gift box will sit atop the arch at the junction between Orchard Road and Scotts Road. This brings us back to the theme of love and giving this Christmas.
The three zones – Tanglin, Orchard and Somerset will be lit and decorated in different colours and types of decoration.
Hollies and mistletoes will be intertwined in hues like frosty white, turquoise blue and hues of gold. Lampposts will be embellished with snowflakes and Christmas trees, adding to the festivities downtown.
Shopping at Orchard Road
If you plan to do some Christmas shopping at Orchard road, spending with your Mastercard can earn you mall vouchers which can be redeemed with five receipts from the same mall.
There are a total of 12 participating malls, more details will be furnished at this site soon.
Viewing the Christmas Lights at Orchard Road
Bright lights always bring positivity to our midst. We are glad that Christmas celebrations are just around the corner (just 2.5 months away!) and we look forward to seeing those Christmas lights at the end of the seemingly dark year.
