
Organised by the National Reading Movement, National Reading Day 2018 in Singapore is a day that celebrates the joy of reading. Now into its third year, National Day Reading Day 2018 falls on Saturday, 28 July.
Here are some of the activities that will be taking place around Singapore on 28 and 29 July as part of National Reading Day.

Big Book Giveaway
Pick up a tome or three as part of the National Reading Day 2018 Big Book Giveaway. Taking place on Saturday, 28 July 2018 at the National Library Plaza and VivoCity Outdoor Plaza, stop by and get three free books. The books will be available for all age groups on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last.
Storytelling Sessions at Car-Free Sunday
Be enthralled by storytellers like Vivienne Wong, Roger Jenkins and Gophi Nathan at the Cenotaph Lawn on Sunday, 29 July, from 8 am to 12 pm.

Monster Scavenger Hunt
Go for a hunt for books around the library with a friendly monster from the Monsters’ United team. Complete the quest while learning about Singapore literature, the adventure genre and reading to claim a token. This activity takes place on Saturday, 28 July, 2.30 pm to 4 pm at Jurong Regional Library and on Sunday, 29 July, 2.30 pm to 4 pm at Bedok Public Library, Woodlands Regional Library, Central Public Library and Tampines Regional Library.
National Reading Day in Singapore is organised by the National Reading Movement which is a 5-year campaign by the National Library Board to encourage Singapore residents to Read More, Read Widely and Read Together.
