The burger comes with a packet of rich braising sauce and a packet of chilli sauce for a mild kick.
Taste Test
We were quite excited to try out the burger. It is one of the most interesting ideas that we had seen in a burger (one of the previous innovative ones was the Hainanese Tendergrill Chicken Burger from almost a decade ago.)
The MOS Burger Teochew Braised Duck Burger we picked up was nicely presented.
We liked how there was effort made with the cucumbers folded away at the top of the bun and that it made use of the type of braised hard boiled egg that you’d find with duck rice.
There is a portion of duck meat at the bottom layer. It is garnished with cilantro.
So, what does it taste like?
It tastes like the components of Teochew Braised Duck in a burger – and we liked it!
We loved how this was a creative food idea that we had not come across before.
However, just take note that it has a bright cilantro taste. This was nice and fresh to us but if you are the sort that does not like cilantro, you may wish to take it out before sinking your teeth into it.
Adding the braising sauce and the chili made it even more authentic (and we think it is a must to prevent the burger, especially the tau pok layer, from being too dry.)
Additional Special Items at MOS Burger
You can complete your meal with Sriracha Mayo Fries and a refreshing Lychee Berry Drink, filled with juicy lychee and bursting lychee pearls too.
The MOS Burger Teochew Braised Duck Burger costs $7.90 and is available on either a regular burger bun or rice burger bun.
