“We have the child’s welfare at the centre of all we do,” said Ms Anuradha Subramaniam, Principal of MindChamps PreSchool Changi Business Park. And as we discovered, her statement underscores the ethos of the Changi Business Park preschool.
MindChamps PreSchool Changi Business Park has been open since 2010 and Ms Anuradha has been with the Centre since the beginning – first as a teacher and then as Principal. She brings with her both continuity and a passion for the Centre’s preschoolers, or Champs as they are proudly referred to at MindChamps.
Preparing Children for a Globalised World
At MindChamps PreSchools, children are prepared to thrive in a fast-changing, globalised world through the ‘3-Mind’ Educational Model.
Comprising the Learning Mind, the Champion Mind and the Creative Mind, the 3-Mind Model draws on the work of Professor Allan Synder and other experts in the fields of Education, Psychology, Neuroscience and Theatre to inculcate the winning mindset in children from an early age.

Learning with S.M.I.L.E.S.
Champs get to benefit from MindChamps’ unique S.M.I.L.E.S. (Sensory, Motor, Intellectual, Linguistic, Emotional and Social) environment. This exposes children to a wide variety of activities within the Centre.
The curriculum integrates Core Programmes such as MindChamps Reading & Writing with Enrichment Programmes like Creative & Theatrical Strategies and Gourmet Moments.
Activities are supported by facilities such as an indoor gym and an outdoor play area which Champs get to use every day. The nearby park also provides opportunities for experiential learning.
Champs also engage in lively enquiry-based learning where they are encouraged to ask questions and investigate self-chosen topics under their teacher’s guidance. This nurtures their innate curiosity and sets them on the path to becoming life-long learners.
It is the Little Things
MindChamps Changi Business Park offers classes from Playgroup to Kindergarten 2.
However, the formal curriculum is just part of the equation that makes MindChamps PreSchool Changi Business Park special. Ms Anuradha shared that it is the little touches that make Champs feel a strong sense of affinity to the Centre.
As an example, she pointed out that each child’s chair is labelled with his or her name and photograph. “It gives the Champ as sense of belonging,” she explained. “And also helps the younger ones to learn how recognise their own names,” she adds with a chuckle.
Classrooms are also named after different MindChamps values. For example, the Play Group classroom is called Confidence while the Nursery 1 classroom is Creativity.
“The names of the classrooms reflect the values which we hope to inculcate in each child during the year,” said Ms Anuradha and a smile comes over her face as she describes the joy of watching Champs blossom from term to term.
Equalling the dedication of Ms Anuradha and her teachers are the Champs’ parents. At the welcoming MindChamps PreSchool Changi Business Park community, parents (and even grandparents) are regularly involved in the Centre’s activities such as family days and festive celebrations.
It is through the dedication of both teachers and parents that MindChamps PreSchool Changi Business Park is truly a place where the child is placed at the centre of it all.
