Rooms Built With Families In Mind
We stayed in a King Room, which turned out to be plenty of space for the three of us, styled in the same playful interiors that run through the rest of the hotel.
Even the smaller details felt considered, from bathroom amenities for kids to an AI voice controlled assistant in the room, which the bean took great delight in bossing around.
He was equally excited by the little welcome gifts the hotel had set out for him.

A Menu For Everyone At The Table
No holiday is complete without good food, and with two restaurants and two pool bars on site, M Social Phuket did not disappoint.
We started at Beast & Butterflies, the hotel’s signature restaurant known for its fusion of East and West flavours and locally sourced ingredients.
The bean’s plate came from the kids’ menu, and it was clear some thought had gone into catering to younger guests without dumbing down the flavours. We later tried Bincho Izakaya too, the hotel’s Japanese sushi and sake bar, for something a little different.
Where The Whole Family Gets Hands On
What stood out most about this stay was how many of the experiences invited the entire family to participate together, rather than simply entertaining the children on the side.
A Thai cooking class had us gathered around the chef, learning techniques to make authentic dishes such as Som Tum and Bua Loy. Cooking with the bean at home is a regular affair, so this class felt like familiar territory. He was eager from the start and keen to help through each step.
There was also a sushi making class, where the bean learned to roll a California roll. His attempts came out a little uneven, but they were all his own work, and a few ingredients may have gone missing along the way.
For something different, we attended a mocktail making class. The drink the bean created was inspired by the blue waters of Phuket, a striking concoction he put together himself and wasted no time showing off before diving in.
To hit our exercise quota for the trip, we tried a Muay Thai session, which introduced the bean to the basics of Thailand’s national sport.
The instructors were clearly professionals, but patient and encouraging with him throughout. He gave it his all with every punch and kick, and even though they landed more as show than force, the instructors humoured him all the same, reacting like each one connected.
Each of these classes gave the bean something to be proud of, and there is something quietly special about watching him participate. It made the whole stay feel less like a checklist of activities and more like a series of memories in the making.
Convenience Beyond The Hotel Grounds
Families travelling with young children know that flexibility matters just as much as the itinerary itself, and this is where M Social Phuket’s location works in your favour.
The hotel is directly connected to Jungceylon mall and a short walk from Central Patong, so whenever we needed a change of pace, kid friendly activities were only steps away.
Exploring Phuket Old Town, The Slow Way
We tried the hotel’s Vespa tour too, one of its more unexpected offerings. On a separate outing, we made our way to Phuket Old Town, where the shophouse lined streets felt strikingly similar to Malacca. We wandered past local handicraft and F&B shops, pausing now and then for the wall murals tucked along the way.
More Than Just A Stay
Looking back, it was never really about where we stayed, but the experiences that let the whole family be present together.
