“I just LIKE it!” was my 4.5 year old son’s reply when I asked him why the LEGO City 60285 Sports Car was his first choice. It is not hard to see why – the attractive blue and realistic make of this vehicle draws one’s attention immediately.
What Makes the LEGO City 60285 Sports Car Zoom?
With dimensions and details mirroring a real sports car, the design of LEGO City 60285 Sports Car includes a sleek body, a movable rear spoiler, a removable roof (which little hands can easily take on and off) for open-top driving, and tyres that even have grip!
Complementing it is a cool looking dude with a smirk on his face; this minifigure fits perfectly into the cockpit which comes complete with a steering wheel that moves. If the doors of the car could open and close, that would be perfect, making it even more fun to play with.

The Building Process
Made up of a total of 89 pieces, the LEGO City 60285 Sports Car is recommended for children who are aged 5+. My son, who is not yet 5, did not have any problem following the manual as the instructions were clear and did not need any reading skills.
The car was built in two stages, with the base of the vehicle body to start off with, and two packets of LEGO to be opened at each stage. This made the building process neat and easy, and yet engaging.
A Free Interactive Construction Guide on the LEGO App
For even younger children who need more guided instructions, LEGO has provided a free interactive construction guide on the LEGO app for this build. Viewed in 3D, it helps the child to better envision how it looks and where to place the LEGO pieces. This would be especially helpful for first-time LEGO builders.
LEGO City 60285 Sports Car Review
Overall, this LEGO City 60285 Sports Car makes a great starting platform into the world of LEGO or even as an add-on to one’s collection. Children who enjoy playing with vehicles will love this, as the fun continues even after the car is built. My son is a testament to this – starting a race with his other cars as soon as it was completed!
