Kebun Baru Edge, located across from Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, can be found between Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Ang Mo Kio Street 21.

Next to the estate’s multi-storey car park, families will find a bright red playground sprouting up from the ground. The two-storey tomato playground offers an imaginative play spot for kids.

Tomato Playground

At the top of the playground is a large red tomato that kids can climb into and explore. It is a variation on the treehouse – and is instead based on the juicy fruit.

Other cutouts of tomatoes and other root vegetables decorate the structure.

A green slide leads down from the tomato treehouse. A second and lower green slides leads out from the other side.

mini maze

Beneath the tomato, there is a bit of a mini maze that kids can navigate their way around. There is even a counter that has been designed to look like store – perhaps it is meant to be farmer’s market stall?

Older kids who are looking for more of a challenge can make their way over to the adjacent yellow, green and orange Kebun Baru Edge Playground.

This playground features a series of pole structures bursting out from the ground.

Connected by various obstacles, such as multi-height stepping stones and stepping ropes, these orange and green structures act as climbing challenges for kids.

tessellated patterned rungs

In addition to the regular green rings that act as runs for kids to climb towards the top, there is also a series of tessellated patterned rungs that offer a different variation for earnest climbers.

Another interesting feature is a blue climbing wall with hexagonal cut-outs that kids can use as foot and hand holds.

Kids can also climb up an orange ladder to reach the green platform where they can launch themselves down the yellow open slide.

Colourful, transparent panels at the top of the playground add a playful touch, conveying the vibes of fluttering butterflies playing alongside the kids.

Other play features at the Kebun Baru Edge Playground include activity poles and a speed racer game for two. These encourage interactive play amongst kids and their parents.
