The Istana will be opening its grounds for a combined Labour Day and Hari Raya Puasa Open House 2021 on Thursday, 13 May, the first such onsite event since February 2020.

The Istana normally holds several Open House events each year. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it had to suspend the onsite open houses since February 2020, switching over to virtual Istana Open Houses for the remainder of last year.

Earlier this year, the Istana did not hold its usual Chinese New Year Open House either.

During the upcoming Istana Open House, only the grounds of the Istana will be accessible; the main building will not be open to the public.

Visitors can look forward to visiting the various gardens on the Istana grounds, including a new “Inclusive Garden” that was launched by President Halimah in February 2021.

To avoid the gathering of large groups, there will no performances, tours, booths or food trucks at the upcoming Istana Open House. Safe distancing ambassadors also will be present to ensure visitors observe safe distancing measures while at the open house.

Register for the Istana Open House tickets from Thursday, 29 April 2021, 10 am at this website.
