The Singapore Symphony Orchestra rings in the Christmas season with two magical evenings of Christmas carols and yuletide melodies on 10 and 12 December at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
Conductor Jason Lai and the SSO, together with soprano Ee-Ping, the Singapore Symphony Chorus and the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir, will present a selection of music to get the audience into a holiday mood.
Highlights of the programme include excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite No. 1, Three Holiday Songs from Home Alone by John Williams, J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (Part 1) as well as the Angels’ Carol, Nativity Carol and Shepherd’s Pipe Carol by John Rutter.
Soprano Ee-Ping will join the orchestra for Verdi’s ‘Mercè, dilette amiche’ from I Vespri Siciliani, and Winter Wonderland for solo voice and orchestra by Felix Bernard.
