
NParks’ Festival of Biodiversity takes place on the opening weekend of the June school holidays, 31 May and 1 June 2025, with activities that include Festival booths, Festival walks, workshops and more.
Festival of Biodiversity 2025
The Festival of Biodiversity has been an annual event since 2012 and aims to increase the awareness and appreciation of Singapore’s natural heritage.
Organised by NParks, it has grown to include the participation of many different biodiversity-related interest groups as well as Non-Governmental Organisations.
This year, the Festival of Biodiversity 2025 will take place at The Plaza, National Library Building on 31 May and 1 June, 10 am to 7.30 pm with exciting and informative experiences.

Here’s a look at what you can expect at this year’s Festival of Biodiversity 2025.
Festival Booths
One of the most interesting aspects of the Festival of Biodiversity is the chance to meet people who are actively involved in protecting the local biodiversity. Also present at the Festival are those who may be showcase their efforts and actions.
This year, some of the booths at the Festival of Biodiversity include:
- Cicada Tree Eco-Place: In conjunction with Festival of Biodiversity 2025, Cicada Tree Eco-Place is publishing a children’s book titled “Top 10 Weirdest Critters of Singapore’s Rainforest.” The book is an environmental education resource of the “Protect Our Last Wilderness” conservation campaign by Cicada Tree Eco-Place.
- Entomological Network of Singapore (ENSING): View a showcase of insect varieties and the threats they face. Learn how different insects play different but equally important roles in the environment. Learn how to identify the variety of insects found in Singapore and how they contribute to our daily lives.
- Herpetological Society of Singapore: Their booth will have a variety of reptile specimens and posters, along with herp-themed figurines & toys. You can also purchase merchandise (stickers, pins, and posters) at the booth.
- Just Keep Thinking: The Just Keep Thinking booth will showcase the Eco-Train Exhibition, a free, public-access environmental education initiative focused on Southeast Asia’s rainforests. Look out for a miniature Eco-Train model, AR rainforest experience and wildlife specimens.
- Mandai Nature: Learn more about they work with partners to protect some of Southeast Asia’s most threatened wildlife.
- Nature Society (Singapore): Want to learn how to get involved conserving our natural environment? Visit the Nature Society (Singapore) booth at the Festival of Biodiversity 2025 to find out more about them and our natural environment through a combination of show and tell and activities.
These are just a handful of the Festival Booths that will be at the Festival of Biodiversity this weekend.
Talks and Workshops
What to learn about Singapore’s natural environment? Here are some of the talks takinig place this weekend during the Festival of Biodiversity.
Documenting Life in Singapore’s Southern Archipelago: The Southern Islands Biodiversity Survey (1 June, 10 am to 11 am)
Find out about the Southern Islands Biodiversity Survey, a comprehensive report of the history, geology, and biodiversity of 17 sites within the southern islands. The database has been compiled from biodiversity surveys conducted from 2020 to 2022 and data from existing records. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, academic, or simply curious about Singapore’s hidden treasures, this talk offers fascinating insights into the biodiversity of our offshore islands.
Singapore’s Amazing Plant Life (1 June, 11 am to 12.30 pm)
Singapore is home to truly wondrous and beautiful plant life. Spend an hour with Dr Shawn Lum of the Nature Society to learn more about our mossy, ferny or flowery friends and neighbours.
Fantastic Frogs & Terrific Toads (1 June, 2 pm to 3 pm)
Frogs are more than noisy creatures that turn up after the rains! Singapore is home to a fascinating variety of frogs, many of which have unique adaptations and important roles in our ecosystems. In this fun and interactive session, explore the secret lives of our local frogs—how they grow, what they eat, and where they live. There will also be plenty of engaging stories, exciting frog calls, and more! Perfect for younger nature enthusiasts, this talk will inspire curiosity, appreciation, and action to safeguard Singapore’s amphibians. Get ready to hop into the world of frogs like never before!

Festival Game Stations & Scavenger Hunt
Look out for three festival game stations at the Festival of Biodiversity. Play Animal Jenga, Buggin’ Around and Zoomtopia to learn more about the rich biodiversity that can be found in Singapore’s urban areas.
This year, you can also take part in a scavenger hunt across the festival booths and the Central Public Library. Complete all three game stations and answer at least three questions in the scavenger hunt to win the exclusive FoB 2025 pin!
