It is co-created with artists and celebrities including Lizzo, Jason Wu, Solange Knowles and others.
The funhouse spans 4, 500 sqm and consists of 29 rooms in different themes, 29 questions and even scents. Here are 6 highlights to check out at 29Rooms Asia.
What to Check Out at 29Rooms Asia at Gardens by the Bay
Billie Eilish collaboration
GIVEAWAY: Stand to Win Prizes including a Marky Polo Travels Book Set and Tickets to Nestopia & HydroDash
MARCH HOLIDAYS: The Best Activities and Ideas for Kids and Families in Singapore
If you are a fan of Billie Eilish, don’t miss the room dedicated to the singer. Accompanying her breathy voice and images of her silhouette is the scent of her second perfume named Eilish No. 2. This will also be launched at 29Rooms and visitors will be able to purchase the perfume. The warm, woody, spicy notes might make you “happier than ever”.
One of our favourite rooms is the Insomnia room, designed by artist MOMOSHOU. A gigantic baby mobile made of sheep hangs and we are invited to just lay down, dream and “sleep like a baby”. Except we all know that babies aren’t the best of sleepers. Don’t miss that familiar smell in the air – a whiff of that talcum powder is reminiscent of diaper-change days.
Hong Kong artist Desmond Leung created the Huetopia room which captures an immersive sunset experience. Get transported out of the present moment into a calming space where you can decompress.
Interact & Immerse yourself in 29Rooms
Visitors are definitely invited to immerse themselves in the rooms and co-create.
Head to Dora’s Diary and add your own entries to the incomplete journals in the room. Local journalling artist Steph T will guide you along as you respond to the entries or write you very own.
Paint Over Your Mess invites visitors to vandalise the room with colourful paints and paint tools including huge brushes. Doodle, splash and make a legit mess!
Customise your own 29Rooms Souvenir
Need some swag from 29Rooms Asia, how about customising your own shirt with personal goals in the Flag Your Goals room. It was inspired by laundry hanging out to dry on bamboo poles typically seen at HDB estates.
Or head to Samsung’s Epic Nights in Asia using the Glambot to create snippets just for the gram. Strike a pose, move through the vivid landscapes in Hoi An, Seoul and other parts of Asia.
Catch that Scent, Ask Questions
Turn on that olfactory sense as you wander through the exhibits. Enter The Lost And Found Forest where the scent of bergamot and sandalwood brings you through a multi-sensorial experience. Scents at 29Rooms are specially concocted by local designers Scene Shang.
The Lost And Found Forest is also where one can ask themselves the questions on the wall. This is the event’s signature ‘”29 Questions” meant to provoke and encourage self-discovery.
“Grab” Drinks & Make a Friend
Quench your thirst at three rooms – Tiger Beer’s X Room, The Nice To Meet You café and Monkey Shoulder’s party room. X Room will be hosting music acts, DJs, artists, workshops, F&B concepts and restaurant pop-ups.
Fancy a cocktail? “Grab” yours at the flat party by catching it in the wind chamber where drink coupons will be swirling around.
The Nice To Meet You café comes with seesaw seating so you will have to partner someone to balance the weight while sipping coffee.
