This marine-themed educational fair has performances, storytelling and other fun activities to nurture kids’ creativity and love for the deep, from learning about manta rays and having a hands-on session with marine creatures to craft work and mural colouring. Details.
2. Ready! Set! Zo!

Join the animal contestants as they participate in the race of their lives, in this tongue-in-cheek retelling of how the animals of the Chinese Zodiac got their place on the Lunar Calendar. Learn more.
3. Singapore International Children’s Film Festival
22 May to 4 June
National Gallery Singapore
Themed “Big Eyes, Big Minds”, this festival highlights the best new films for kids from around the world. With different offerings for different age groups, the aim is to broaden their perspective and encourage critical thinking through age-appropriate concepts. Find out more.
4. Time for Fun
28 to 29 May
Esplanade
Let the performers from Russia’s The Hand Made Theatre take you on an inspiring and beautiful journey, as they present this highly imaginative performance using only their hands to create hundreds of images, from ticking clocks to a balletic flock of birds.
5. Sentosa FunFest 2016
28 May to 5 June, 10 am to 7 pm
Palawan Green, Sentosa
This mega beach festival returns with a range of incredible giant inflatables, foam pools, obstacle courses and more. There’s plenty for the kids to play with, while parents who prefer to stay dry and kick back and relax with some good food and drinks at the makan area.
6. The Missing Mouse Weekend Festival
28 to 29 May, 1 pm to 5 pm
Asian Civilisations Museum
Follow Ganesha and friends on an adventure around the museum as they try to find Mr Mouse. With family activities, crafts, performances and storytelling, you’re all set for a fun-filled afternoon.
7. Pesta Ubin 2016

Pulau Ubin
Be sure to check out Pulau Ubin’s open house. Experience the gentle, friendly way of life on the island through a range of activities organised by its inhabitants and those who love it. From nature walks and camps to birdwatching, fishing, stargazing and more, it’s a great opportunity to get away from the city and spend some quality family time together.
8. Asian Festival of Children’s Content 2016
25 to 29 May
National Library Building
The biggest edition of this festival yet, there are numerous free and ticketed events lined up for kids and parents. On top of the AFCC Book Fair which features the latest children’s titles across the region, there are also book launches and free activities like singalong sessions, plays and storytelling. 9. Shaking it with Shakespeare

Singapore Philatelic Museum
Discover the life and times of William Shakespeare at this fun and fascinating exhibition. Apart from stamps, there are also curios from Tudor times, centuries-old books and costumes from Romeo and Juliet plays that you can dress up in. A major highlight are the storytelling sessions conducted by an experienced member of the Globe Theatre in London.
10. DBS Marina Regatta 2016
28 May to 5 June, 11 am to 10 pm
The Promontory @ Marina Bay
Taking place over two weekends, Singapore’s largest water sports fest features heart-thumping dragon boating contests among the region’s top teams, plus activities for kids like kayaking, zorbing and obstacle courses. Don’t miss Southeast Asia’s tallest inflatable water slide, which stands at a whopping five storeys tall. Details.
11. Families for Life Celebrations 2016

Civic District
Held in conjunction with Car-free Sunday, this mass picnic also features local music acts, a movie screening, busker performances, art and craft activities and bouncy castles – everything you need for a fab day out in the sunshine with the whole family.
