Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House 2020: Tours & Presentations On 14 November

For Deepavali this year, President Halimah Yacob will be hosting a Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House on Saturday, 14 November 2020. Members of the public who wish to attend can join the livestream on her Facebook page at 4 pm.

On the programme for the Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House 2020 are the “live” tours of the Istana building, Indian dance performances and a virtual animal presentation by Wildlife Reserves Singapore. There will also be a chance for President Halimah to interact with visitors via Facebook live.


Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House 2020 Programme

The Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House 2020 will start off at 4 pm with an introduction by an emcee and opening remarks by President Halimah.

At 4.05 pm, the first of three virtual “live” tours will commence. An Istana Volunteer Guide will take viewers on a tour of the Istana State Room. Mock-ups of State events will be presented as part of the virtual Istana tour.

Students from Admiralty Primary School will then provide an Indian Dance Performance Ujavani to celebrate Deepavali.

A second virtual tour, this time of the Istana Reception Room, will follow the Admiralty Primary School performance.

At 4.20 pm, viewers can look forward to a virtual presentation by Wildlife Reserves on Animals and Keepers, before another virtual tour of the Istana Banquet Room.

To round-off the virtual tours, there will be an online quiz contest about the Istana over Kahoot.

Following an Indian Concert Musical by Team Fusion, President Halimah will then take Facebook Live questions relating to the Istana at 5.05 pm before the Virtual Deepavali Istana Open House 2020 ends.
