Cathay Green, opposite from the Cathay building, has been turned into The Dancer’s Fair, an old-school fairground with carnival rides and games powered, in most cases, by man-power. The fun carnival for kids is open only for the weekend of 24 to 26 May 2024 as part of the Singapore International Festival of Arts.

The Dancer's Fair: Carnival at Cathay Green

The Dancer’s Fair is named after a 5-metre-tall mechanical ballerina. Looking like it belongs our of the a steampunk novel, the dancing ballerina performs gracefully, welcoming and charming spectators who make their way into her fairground.

Including The Dancer, there are a total of eight attractions at The Dancer’s Fair. These attractions have an old-school flair and lively carnival operators add to the fun atmosphere at the fair, run by Antigua i Barbuda.

Ferris Wheel

Ferris Wheel

One of the main attractions is the Ferris Wheel. Made out of found materials such as toilet seats, children who weigh 45 kg and under can strap in and go for a ride. The Ferris Wheel requires the power a strong person to power it; so strong young men can step up and help to send the kids spinning around and around.

Iron Tree

Iron Tree

The Iron Tree is another fun ride where kids and parents can go for a spin around in the air.

Mini Carousel

Kids will also love riding on a Mini Carousel.

The Unusual Tour

The Unusual Tour

Two persons can mount up on bikes and pedal away to compete with each other on a game board. The faster each person pedals, the faster his or her mini-cyclist moves on the board. It is a race to the finish line!

Shooting Gallery

Shooting Gallery

Take aim and fire at the old-style school shooting booth at The Dancer’s Fair.

Bingo Popcorn

Bingo Popcorn

This is a fun game where kids have to get three balls in a row to bingo!

The Hammocks

The Hammocks

After a long day at the fairground, parents and kids can make their way to The Hammocks. Here, parents can take a seat while kids pamper the adults (for once!)
