The Sunset Way playground right next to Ulu Pandan Park Connector and Blk 101 Clementi Street 14 has recently reopened after a revamp.
It is now more than a playground as it has an exercise corner, exercise equipment structure with kettlebells attached and a play area. Not far away is also a multi-purpose court and a gated sheltered basketball court.
Sunset Way PCN Playground: Netted Tower, See-Saw, Trampolines
This playground has gone through many changes and has transformed over the years. Located between Sunset Way HDB estate and the crossing at Sungei Ulu Pandan, it is a popular play spot for residents, passers-by and even the Ulu Pandan Park Connector users.

Children can climb up a yellow netted play tower that stands out in a sea of green. There is also a wave-shaped see-saw for friends and siblings to play together.
Bounce on the two trampolines too!
The saucer swing is a fun one for children to play together. It is strangely chained to the ground for safety reasons perhaps.
Caregivers can also sit by the staggered steps or benches to watch the children play. Even the bench reminded one to do sit-to-stand exercises.
The signposts around had reminders for families how to stay healthy and keep fit in various languages.
Exercise Equipment: Ropes, Weights
There is also an exercise area with equipment to do strength training. Besides weights for lifting, there are also ropes to climb and do shoulder presses.
Compared to how it was just a playground previously, more groups of people can now use the fitness areas to tone up and get fit.
For the elderly, they can use the fitness corner. Pedalling, stepping, swinging, rotating are all activities that are elderly-friendly.
How about a multi-generational jaunt? This area is perfect for it, with children playing and the adults exercising right next to them.
Multi-purpose Court & Sheltered Basketball Court
I was glad to see the sports facilities revamped. They are located on the other side of the block, right next to the Ulu Pandan Park Connector.
While the sheltered basketball court is set to open later, it was an inviting space also because it is now a weatherproof facility.
Sadly, the multipurpose court right next to it is not sheltered. It can probably be used for badminton and pickleball.
I tried the court for pickleball and found the bounce to be different. Perhaps the padded surface absorbs both the sound of the ball bouncing and the impact.
If you’re planning to use the court, do note that this is a public facility that is very close to the residents at Blk 101. Hence, considerate use is advised.
