Red and White Jelly
You can make use of agar agar to make red and white jelly. Make two separate pots of agar agar: one with red food colour and the other with coconut milk. Once the agar agar preparation is ready, pour in the first layer of red agar agar and allow it to half-cool. After that, pour in the second layer using the agar agar with coconut milk. Continue to build up the layers. The allow it to cool in the fridge.
One tip: we allowed it to cool overnight and this resulted in some of the red layers seeping into the white layers. However, if you allow it to cool within a day, the layers are more distinct.
Red and White Cookies
You can make the cookies using your favourite cookie recipe. To make it even more Singapore themed, cut out the cookies using a star-shaped mould.
Next, using icing sugar to top off the cookies. You can either decorate it half red and half white, or completely white and then top it off with sprinkles.
