Kumoya Café is no stranger to those who enjoy themed cafes. In the past, it has hosted pop-ups cafes with characters such as Mr Men and Little Miss and My Little Pony. This time, it is bringing around a themed dining experience with not one but two well-loved characters – the world’s first Precious Moments and Care Bears café.
Delight for the Taste Buds and the Eyes
Other than exclusive original art created just for this pop-up café collaboration, the Precious Moments x Care Bears Pop-Up Café has food that will delight both the taste buds and the eyes.
Many of these dishes come with free limited-edition gifts featuring the iconic characters. We sat down to try these dishes and more.
We started off with Chicken Spam Fries, an item on the menu’s snack section. It was served piping hot and generously seasoned. We were also really happy to see the Karaage Chicken with Shouu Glaze making a comeback on the menu.
For the mains at the Precious Moments x Care Bears Pop-Up Café, we tried the Spread the Love Seafood Tempura Rice with butterfly pea flower cream sauce. The name itself is a mouthful and the portion matched up!
The butterfly pea flower cream sauce was more unique visually than it was taste wise. It reminded us of a yummy mushroom cream sauce and it went well with the soft egg crepe and fluffy Japanese rice. This set comes with breaded ebi, calamari, scallops, salad and chicken ham hearts. In the spirit of Spreading the Love, each set also comes with a Precious Moments Tote Bag!
We all know sharing is caring, and the best dish for that is the Grumpy Bear’s Big Caring Hug Breakfast “High-Tea” set. Enjoy this 3-tiered breakfast of Grumpy Bear blueberry pancakes served with an assortment of light bites such as a chicken patty, sautéed mushroom tart, heart chicken ham and cheese roll, and deliciously creamy scrambled egg cups.
Sweet Desserts
What’s not to love with this Full of Love Sakura strawberry mousse cup dessert set? The dessert featured heart-shaped macarons with Sakura ganache filling and the mousse with layers of strawberry cream and what tasted like a caramel coconut biscuit crumble. Our favorite part is that it’s served with a Love-a-lot Care Bear Tummy plush to bring home – we’re sold!!
The beverage that really caught our eye was the Follow Your Heart refreshing iced lychee blossom green tea. We spent a full five minutes admiring the packaging and presentation of this drink before taking a sip.
This refreshing sweet treat, served in a cute bear cup, comes with fresh edible flowers on top of cold milk foam. At the bottom, there are lychees and lychee jelly for a refreshing touch.
The beverages at the Precious Moments x Care Bears pop-up café all come with cafe-exclusive fans. There are four different designs to choose from.
