If you are looking for a visually stunning and meaningful day out with the kids this June, Science Centre Singapore is hosting the global debut of ONE Ocean: Every Action Ripples. Opening on 30 May 2026 and running all the way through to 3 Jan 2027, this world-first exhibition transforms over two decades of real oceanographic research from the Tara Ocean Foundation into an interactive, multi-sensory playground.
Designed for visitors of all ages, the walk-through experience spans ten distinct zones that connect the science of the deep blue to the small choices families make at home every day.
Hands-On Installations and Stamp Rally
Families would appreciate then hands-on installations that facilitate learning. From changing of colours of coral beds, buttons activating sound and light effects to real specimens, ONE ocean exhibition makes ocean science accessible and easier to understand particularly for younger audiences.
MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL: Celebrate the Joy of Learning with Discounts Off 1:1: Lessons with the British Council
HOLIDAY COLOURING COMPETITION: Get Creative in the Playground In Your Style Competition with More Than $2,000 in Prizes To Be Won
Children can also make their own postcard at the stamp rally for a take-home souvenir.
Theatre of Life, Colouring Animation & AI Photo Booths
Upon entry, vistors will be greeted by projections of sea life cast across towering curtains. The entrance features a Colouring Animation station where little ones can colour sea creatures and watch them come alive on the projection panels. Four AI photo booths will transform visitors into creatures of Atlantis and deep-sea explorers.
Tides of the Red Dot
At Tides of the Red Dot, this zone focuses on Singapore’s local marine biodiversity, environmental threats and stories of hope from the community. It features specimens found in local shores and seas such as the Eunice worm, Porcelain Crab and more. Families can also craft an origami Stingray to take home.
This section is essential in teaching families about Singapore’s own unique coastal biodiversity and what we can do to protect it.
Colours of the Ocean
Watch coral beds change under pressure with a slider showing how reefs shift from vibrant colour to grey under environmental stress. The zone reveals how coral systems are affected by environmental pressures and explains the concepts of robustness, resilience and resistance.
Microscopic Life: The Superheroes of the Ocean
The tiniest things can sometimes lead to big impacts. Six microscopic superheroes are showcased in this gallery with motion-activated screens revealing each organism’s function. For instance, the Bacillariophyta is a diatom that champions photosynthesis. It generates as much energy as tropical rainforests and plays a significant role in oxygen production.
Ocean Currents Ever Flowing
Did you know a single drop of water can take nearly a thousand years to travel around the globe? Visitors set this in motion by turning an interactive wheel, transforming a static map into a narrated animation of the Global Conveyor Belt. A touchscreen traces a drop’s thousand-year journey, revealing the profound influence of ocean currents on life across the planet.
Symphonies of the Ocean: A Soundscape to Get Lost In
Listen out for the symphonies of the ocean in this acoustically isolated space. The centrepiece is a large wooden mixing panel inspired by vintage recording studios. By adjusting backlit sliders, one can compose their own soundscape, mixing above-water sounds like snapping sails and strong gales with underwater recordings.
Stories of the Ocean: Myths and Legends from Around the World
Children will be transfixed in this magical seat listening to legendary tales on the ocean. A colossal Kraken is suspended right above. Shadow puppets are projected on walls bringing global myths to life.
7 Wonders of the Ocean
The undisputed centerpiece of the exhibition is a massive, 360-degree projection room called the 7 Wonders of the Ocean.
Standing inside, families will feel entirely submerged beneath the waves as they watch majestic blue whale migrations, witness glowing bioluminescent marine life, and come face-to-face with the vibrant structures of the Great Barrier Reef.
The visual spectacle is paired with a spatial audio experience called Symphonies of the Ocean, which blends authentic recordings captured both above and below the surface to let kids hear exactly how marine environments communicate.
Replica of The Tara Polar Station
Young adventurers can also step inside a life-sized replica of the Tara Polar Station, a unique geode-structured Arctic research laboratory. This section features previously unseen footage and details about how real scientists survive and monitor climate change in Earth’s most remote freezing environments.
VR Upgrade: Secrets of the Blue
For families with older children who want an extra dose of adventure, there is a premium, free-roaming virtual reality upgrade called Secrets of the Blue.
Recommended for kids aged nine and above, this premium add-on plunges participants directly into virtual mangrove forests, tidal marshes, and towering kelp ecosystems. It provides a brilliant, hands-on demonstration of how these “blue carbon” habitats actively trap carbon from the atmosphere to keep the planet’s climate in balance.
Tickets to ONE ocean
General tickets for this spectacular underwater journey start from $13.
If you are planning your family day out during the upcoming holiday weekend, you can opt for the special Hari Raya Bundle, which is priced at $15 for local adults and children, and $20 for non-locals.
