Kids enamoured with the popular LEGO NINJAGO Dragon Rising series will be delighted with the latest Egalt the Master Dragon set.
Review of LEGO NINJAGO 71809 Egalt the Master Dragon
Egalt the Master Dragon LEGO NINJAGO set is the largest in this series with 532 pieces and five mini figures.
Each minifig is decked in unique and spectacular colours. In no time, my kids were role-playing as one of the golden katana-wielding ninja heroes, Llyod decked in emerald green, Nya in ocean blue and Sora in dazzling white. Each of these heroes were instantly recognizable. One can also switch their masked and unmasked faces, adding variation to the play.
Teleported to the World of NINJAGO
The kids were instantly transported into a world of adventure and good versus evil, uniting the heroes to fight against the villains, the masked Lord Ras and grey-haired Cinder, both of which looked magnificent and fearsome with their dark outfits, hammer and weapon.
The odds seem to be against the heroes, so stop the evil powers before they get to the gong and mallet, by which they summon dark powers and presumably more villains. The gong and mallet too, though seemingly simple, still contained beautiful golden colors and intricate details, an impressive treasure to be tussled over by the heroes and villains.
From Reel to Real
And these are just the figurines; the real prize is the huge and majestic Egalt the master dragon which was a delight to spend hours piecing together. It is designed to be highly mobile despite its towering size. Its head and movable features such as its jaws and moustache make it extremely life-like, while the creature has a splendid range of motion in its claws, legs and tail which even had the capacity to hold another giant katana.
Egalt’s wings are sturdy and yet agile; it can be placed in resting position or it can be made to glide seamlessly. One cool detail is that one of the ninjas can also sit perched on Egalt’s back, as he receives instruction from the sagely dragon or even team up together in battle. Clawing furiously at enemies, wriggling in pain, or just quietly guiding the heroes, it’s all up to the kids’ limitless imagination!
You’ll find the kids playing with the set for hours from the living room to the kitchen, full of concocted dialogue, stories and sound effects. Overall, the LEGO NINJAGO Egalt the Dragon Master set inspires creativity in the kids and certainly did not disappoint.
