But, first off, you have to hunt down some kid-friendly restos. Then, you have to worry about whether the food will suit your tot.
And how on earth will you keep the high-octane mini-torpedos entertained so that you can actually eat the dinner you set out to enjoy?
Here is a list of 13 places your kids can eat for free. Who could resist a free lunch? Some of these dining spots even have proper playrooms.

The Bank Bar + Bistro
Yes, go ahead – take your kids to a bar.
The Bank Bar + Bistro in the heart of the CBD seems an unlikely candidate for child-friendly dining, but we’re letting you in on a cool little (open) secret.
On weekends and public holidays, kids up to 12 years old can eat for free from 9 am to 6 pm at this kid-friendly resto; and there’s even a playroom to keep them tots entertained while the grown-ups scarf down a Sunday roast or two.
The tykes can choose from a kids’ menu that includes a mini beef burger with cheese, grilled skinless chicken breast with corn niblets and spaghetti bolognaise, and baked Pacific Dory with tomato salsa, broccoli flan, and spaghetti alfredo.
The playroom is actually a private drinks lounge on weekdays, but morphs into a play area come weekends, with floor mats, a ball pool, a TV which screens cartoons, and some toys. The cosy playroom is also open from 9 am to 6 pm.
You can keep an eye on the tots in the playroom as you sip a cocktail or a beer if you choose an al fresco table next to the playroom glass window. The interior of the resto looks like, well, a bank.

Come the weekend, the CBD is quiet as a mouse, so you won’t be fighting tooth and nail for a table – or even brave traffic jams – to get to lunch or dinner at The Bank. The roads are clear; so are the tables!
Don’t miss their value-for-money Sunday Roast, available only during weekends. It’s classic British grub – a choice of tender roast beef with a mouthwatering sauce, Yorkshire pudding, veg and corn on the cob; or moist roast chicken with creamy mash, mushy peas and Yorkshire pudding.
It’s as hearty as it can get at just $26.50, which includes a weekly dessert.

Smokey’s BBQ
The American smokehouse and grill joint’s new Sunday brunch offering includes a free kids’ meal with any adult main course ordered, for children 10 years old and younger at its Sunset outlet.
The adults can go for some yummy frittatas, Belgian waffles, and Smokey’s hangover specials on Bloody Marys, sparkling wine and mimosas – on happy hour prices, too! Everyone’s happy.
Smokey’s uses hickory and mesquite wood to smoke their meats, so make a note to try their smoked baby back ribs, $25 for half a slab. And don’t forget to chomp down some buffalo wings, from $10.

Hearty Belgian cuisine, lots of open space to run around, and even better – kids under 10 eat for free every weekend and public holiday from 12 pm to 5 pm. They will also enjoy a free scoop of ice-cream and free flow of fountain soft drinks.
At Brussels Sprouts, a child can eat for free for every paying adult who orders from the Big Eat or Main Sized Moules Frites/Palourde Frites sections of the menu. More reasons to invite your friends along!
Kids’ eats include meatballs, sausages, and fish; all served with salad and Belgian fries, as well as pasta with pink sauce.
However, this kids-eat-free promo is only for groups of no more than 15 people with at least 10 paying adults.
The brainchild of celebrity chef Emmanuel Stroobant, Brussels Sprouts has three scooter-friendly locations at Robertson Quay, East Coast and Sentosa.
Mummy, daddy, and friends can wash down some beer-stewed beef, braised lamb shank or a pot of mussels that comes with free-flow fries, with some cold Belgian beer.

If you would like to enjoy Sunday brunch while keeping the littlies entertained, One-Ninety at Four Seasons Hotel offers a champagne brunch with a huge kids’ playland thrown in.
The Children’s Playland, located in the hotel’s ballroom, is a supervised wonderland for the little ones.
So mum and dad can kick back in peace and savour the adults’ brunch with free-flow Veuve Cliquot champagne, wine, beer and cocktails.
At the Playland, there’s a bouncy castle to keep the kiddos occupied, as well as activities like face painting, arts and craft, balloon games, bookmark-making, DVD movies, and video game consoles – bound to keep the little ones entertained.

The Edge at Pan Pacific
If you’re in a mood to be pampered, go for one of Singapore’s longest buffet brunches at The Edge at Pan Pacific Hotel.
The four-hour long champagne buffet brunch includes an impressive selection of Boston Lobster, Omi Wagyu Beef, Fines de Claire Oysters and 30 varieties of artisanal Cheese and Raclette, among others.
But be prepared to shell out more for this premium champagne brunch from 12 pm to 4 pm on Sundays – it’s $158++ a pop. It comes with free-flow Veuve Cliquot champagne, wines, beers, and cocktails.
Luckily for the kids (and for dad and mum’s wallet), the buffet is free for tots under the age of 6. For children between seven to 11 years old, the buffet is $54 with unlimited soft drinks and juices.
It’ll also be fun to watch the chefs at the live stations grill some juicy wagyu beef steaks, or toss some pasta or ravioli in a pan, or melt Raclette cheese a la minute. The unique French or Swiss cheese round is heated, then the melted part is scraped onto dinner plates.

Greenhouse at The Ritz-Carlton
Glitz up your Sunday family dinner at The Ritz-Carlton’s Greenhouse, known for its buffet featuring international flavours and local fare – including a variety of seafood like Canadian lobster, mud crab, chilled tiger prawn, and sashimi.
