Baby Crawling Contest 2013
This is the second year that the Baby Crawling Contest has been jointly organised by SAFRA Toa Payoh and Gymnademics, an early childhood enrichment centre in Singapore.
In last year’s race, 13 month old Stanley Sim was crowned Singapore’s fastest crawling baby, taking a mere eight seconds to crawl a distance of 2.4 metres. He took the top honours ahead of 33 other babies.
In this year’s race, babies will have to cover a similar marked track laid out at the SAFRA Toa Payoh Atrium. Babies will compete in batches of four with each contestant having one try at covering the distance as quickly as possible. Parents can lend their support by encouraging and cheering on their babies from the sidelines.
The Baby Crawling Contest 2013 is divided into two categories, 5 to 8 months and 8 to 12 months. The race takes place between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm on Sunday, 1 December and is being held as part of SAFRA Toa Payoh’s Fun, Learn & Play This Christmas weekend.
Presiding over the Baby Crawling Contest 2013 will be officials from the Singapore Book of Records who will crown the fastest baby in Singapore!
Toddler Race 2013
Children older than 12 months can also get in on the action.
This year, a Toddler Race for children between one to three years old will be held. This race will test the toddlers’ dexterity as they not only have to cover a set distance but also pick up balls and place them in baskets at one end of the track.

Parents who wish to enter their babies and toddlers for a fun day at the races can do so online at the respective Gymnademics Baby Crawling Contest 2013 and Toddler Race 2013 web pages. After registration, participants will be informed of the timings of their race.
Registration fee is $15 per contestant and each registered participant can pick up a free gift from Toa Payoh’s Kidz Amaze Indoor Playground on race day, 1 December 2013.
Winners of the Baby Crawling Contest 2013 and the Toddler Race 2013 will each receive a Gymnademics class 8-session package worth $656.00. Runner-ups will take home a Srhoenhui piano worth $288.00.
