Immersive Disney Animation: The Magic of Music and the Movies

Immersive Disney Animation: The Magic of Music and the Movies

When it is time, you will be ushered into the main show space of the Immersive Disney Animation.

The Sands Theatre has been transformed into an immersive room filled with wall-to-wall projections.

Once Upon a Time

Once Mickey gives the cue, you will be enveloped by ever-changing scenes and specially created sequences based on some of Disney’s most beloved animated movies.

Savanna Red

The room turns a spectacular hue of savanna morning red as the strains of The Circle of Life ring all.

Immersive Disney Animation show Aladdin

Other Disney classics presented at the Immersive Disney Animation show include Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.

Encanto

More contemporary movies represented included Frozen, Zootopia, Moana and Enchanto, along with many others from Disney’s rich catalogue. It is a tour de force of Disney’s much beloved movies with over 40 animated films represented in the montages and sequences.

Enchanto

As we watched the scenes and montages, we were reminded of how powerful Disney’s movies are at evoking emotions and memories. And to see them at such a large scale was even more powerful.

Projections

There were interactive elements as well with playful projections on the ground following along with you wherever you go.

Bubbles

Look out for bubbles filling the air at special moments.

Final Thoughts: Immersive Disney Animation Singapore

Tangled

The animations last for around an hour. While this allows true fans to soak in the experience, it may be a bit long for younger ones who may not be as familiar with all of Disney’s animated films.

There are also very limited seats. While this may be on purpose, it can get rather tiring moving around the room or standing about on two feet to view the animations. This results in people sitting on the floor to watch the animated sequences.

We felt it would have been better if deck chairs or even bean bags could have been provided around the room so that people could choose to simply kick back and soak in the magical experience.

Immersive Disney Animation is now on a Marina Bay Sands, Sands Theatre. It will run till 31 December 2023.
