Under the theme “Don’t Waste A Good Time”, GREEN-HOUSE takes a more playful approach to sustainability, showing that learning to live more consciously does not have to feel like a lesson. Parents will have a chance to browse and shop while kids can make, explore, play and pick up a few lessons about living with less waste.

For the first time, GREEN-HOUSE will stay open until 10pm, in conjunction with the Singapore Night Festival programme and giving families another reason to visit after the sun goes down for an evening of kid-friendly activities, immersive installations and more, offering a fun and free alternative to the usual night-out options.
This year’s GREEN-HOUSE is pet-friendly too, with three days of programming dedicated to pets, animals and nature, making it a weekend outing that four-legged family members can enjoy as well.
What to Expect at GREEN-HOUSE: Workshops & Retail
Families can get hands-on with a range of creative workshops designed to show that sustainability can be practical, playful and easy to bring home.
E•VOL Studio’s Melt and Reshape Recycled Plastic Keychain workshop turns discarded bottle caps into marbled keychains, while rehyphen’s Assembly Cassette Bag Charm workshop gives old cassette tapes a new life as retro accessories.
For families looking to make their clothes last longer, FIN Crafted Goods’ A Mend Away workshop introduces simple repair techniques, including fixing rips and reinforcing thinning fabrics.
Together, the workshops offer younger visitors a chance to learn by making, while picking up simple ideas they can continue practising at home.
For families looking to shop while they explore, GREEN-HOUSE also brings together a selection of kid-friendly local brands, offering everything from children’s clothing and thoughtful everyday essentials to toys and products designed for little ones.
Parents can browse A Kinder Nest, Cosoco Kids, Little Sprout SG, Nava Nest, Play Beyond, Soft Spot and The PureStitch, making it easy to discover new homegrown brands while the kids tag along.
Bring the festival’s “learn to waste less” message home with Eat Your Scraps!. Co-curated by GREEN-HOUSE with food design unit nottofu and circular concept cafe Bricolage, the Walk-and-Dine experience features a three or six-course menu made entirely from kitchen scraps, turning ingredients like vegetable peels, coffee grounds and banana skins into dishes such as Vegetable Treacle, Coffee-Roasted Kohlrabi and Coffee Shoyu, and Banana Skin Jam.
Participants also receive recipe cards with the exact dishes served, along with kitchen tips to recreate them at home, and a complimentary packet of Nobo Soy or Almond Soy Milk, making it a fun way for families to discover how ingredients they might normally throw away can be given a second life.
Families can meet rescued dogs from Paws of JB who are up for adoption, learn about parrot welfare through fun games and activities with Parrot Society SG, and discover Singapore’s often-overlooked wildlife and biodiversity with Nature Society Singapore.
Pet owners can also shop from local brands including The Dog Grocer for treats, Woof Living for toys and Ollie for pet-friendly home cleaning products, while The Dog Grocer’s Pup-Friendly Chendol workshop on 29 August lets participants craft a dog-safe version of the local dessert from scratch, complete with a silicone treat container and pre-made components to recreate at home.
