Fort Canning Park

  • There is an archaeological dig site at Fort Canning Park where artefacts dating back to the 1300s have been found. It is known as the Artisan’s Garden?
  • Jubilee Park is the playground at Fort Canning Park. The area was once the hub of recreational activities at Fort Canning.
  • The origins of Singapore Botanic Gardens can be traced back to Fort Canning Park. It was here that a spice garden was first planted to experiment with economic crops. You can visit a recreated Spice Garden today.
  • There are secret tunnels under Fort Canning Park. Known as The Battlebox, it was the headquarters of the British military during WWII and where it was decided to surrender Singapore to the Japanese.
