Sampan Musical Voyage

The second sampan-based programme is the Sampan Musical Voyage. This was launched as part of Marina Bay Sand’s inaugural Music Festival – Where Music Takes Over.
Visitors will be able to embark on a leisurely ride while being serenaded by talented Sampan singers, taking them on a musical voyage down the Canal at The Shoppes.
In addition, from 15 July to 2 August, visitors are invited to learn to play simple percussive instruments and sing along to a song specially composed to pay homage to the Sampan boats’ role in Singapore’s rich history and culture.
The song, “Little Boat of Dreams”, was co-written by local music producer and filmmaker Eric Wong, together with pop band Scarlet Avenue’s Amos Ang. Wong also worked with local musician and composer Syafiqah Adha to arrange the soundtrack.
The Sampan Musical Voyage is available every Thursday to Saturday, at 2 pm and 6 pm. It is priced at $25, inclusive of booking fees and GST.
