Echoes of the Forbidden Hill: An Amazing Race Experience at Night

Bukit Larangan, or Forbidden Hill, was once the seat of ancient Malay royalty. It later became known as Fort Canning Hill because of the British military site that set up on the hill.

The story of Echoes of the Forbidden Hill draws on these layers of history, bringing Malay rulers and traders, the hill’s botanical heritage and wartime stories to life through projection, sound and puzzles.

For Echoes of the Forbidden Hill, teams of two to six person will take part in the quest.

Each team is required to include speakers of at least two different mother tongue languages (Mandarin, Malay or Tamil).

Together, the teams will navigate Fort Canning Park after dark using their smartphones.

No app download is needed; participants simply scan a QR code on the night to access the Cinewav web experience.

Starting at the Spice Garden, Fort Canning Park, the trail will take them across five stops around Fort Canning Park, where large-scale light projections light up the canopy.

Watch as historic ships glide through the leaves, maps glow in the dark, and centuries of hidden history play through participants’ earphones in cinematic audio sync.

bilingual puzzles.

At each stop, teams must decode bilingual puzzles. The clues require more than one language to be used and no single language can crack alone.

The quest takes approximately 40 to 50 minutes per team.

Teams compete on a live leaderboard, and those who complete the quest, submit a short video testimonial and fill in a feedback form are automatically entered into a lucky draw for flight vouchers and hotel stays, generously sponsored by AirAsia Move.

Every participant who completes the quest also receives a free goodie bag with gifts and vouchers, and complimentary ice cream. Entry is completely free.

Registration is open now at bit.ly/LKYFB-Quest and closes on 25 August 2026. Slots are limited.
