Nature playgardens offer a place for kids to experience the joys of nature in a lush green garden filled with natural materials. And East Coast Park has three nature playgardens, spread out across various family-friendly nodes in the coastal park.

These East Coast Park nature playgardens have bamboo groves and balancing log trails. They offer children between the ages of 3 to 12 a chance to commune with nature around in a naturalistic setting.

East Coast Park Nature Playgardens

The largest of East Coast Park’s nature playgardens can be found at Coastal PlayGrove. There are three zones at this playgarden.

Bamboo tunnel trail

Take a walk through a mysterious bamboo grove, surrounded on all sides by tall, green bamboo. The trail leads out a pretty garden and more nature paths designed for little ones.

Teepee at the Coastal PlayGrove nature playgarden

Three teepees made out of wooden logs mark out the zone inspired by a campsite. There is even a make-believe camp fire. Log trails in various forms criss-cross this section of the Coastal PlayGrove nature playgarden.

Head over to a large sand pit and have carefree fun in the shadow of the large play tower. This is also located next to the Outdoor Classroom by the Sea. Be sure to pay it a visit to view a hornbill nest fashioned out of the hollow of a tree.


Raintree Cove Nature Playgarden

Raintree Cove is a relaxed space with red swings facing out towards the sea. In a quiet corner of Raintree Cove is a small nature playgarden located within a sand pit.

A log bridge entices children to play on it.

Mini Jacob's Ladder

Sawn logs, placed on their side, create a mini Jacob’s ladder. Kids can also hop from log to log along a series of stepping stumps.


Cyclist Park Nature Playgarden

While some may find adventure at Cyclist Park’s pump track, young children can head over to its nature playgarden.

An unusual feature here is a tree stump fitted with rock climbing handholds.

Play in Nature

East Coast Park’s nature playgardens provide kids with a chance to experience nature while at play. They add a nice touch to the various amenities along the popular park.
