As we entered the spacious sunlit Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore Resort main lobby bathed in gentle golden hues, we felt the tension of the city leave us as an envelope of calmness and a palm tree oasis welcomed us.
Helmed by Dusit International, a Thai hospitality company, we truly felt the touches of Thai inspired tranquillity during our stay here.
There are three main F&B establishments – Greenhouse, Tee Deck Alfresco Bistro and Legends Bar.
For this three-day-two-night staycation, we decided to have all our meals in – either at Greenhouse Restaurant or Tee Deck Alfresco Bistro to give mummy a break from cooking. Kids also eat for free with each accompanying paying adult. Easy, fuss-free and easier on our pockets!
Spacious Family Prestige Veranda Suites with Pool View
Upon entering the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore Family Veranda Suite room (the second largest at 115 sqm) with our thoughtfully designed “Tree of Life” room card made of wood, we were greeted with a beautiful naturally sunlit floor to ceiling view of swaying palms.
There was an outdoor lounge too.
“Aeroplane!” Little Pea excitedly exclaimed as she looked out of the window. Little and Mini Pea then jumped onto the vibrant sea-themed kid’s bed to join Mr Giant Whale and Octopus to snuggle in!
His-Hers and Kids Friendly Amenities
The room was spacious with his-and-hers sinks paired with Devarana Wellness (Massage and spa services available) shower bath amenities.
There was a generous separate shower (bring your shower steam tablets!) and toilet areas for papa’s much needed man-cave time!
An outdoor patio, bathtub and rainshower surrounded by greens was such a pleasant surprise and offered us the option to bathe the kids altogether (or with one of us) all in one tub! There was also ample space for a diaper changing area and nursing couch beside the playpen cot.
Just like how you’ll be welcomed at a Thai spa, thoughtfully placed tropical fruits, and an artistic DIY Cookie set welcomed us. Little Pea was exhilarated and spent a considerable amount of time frosting and decorating her cookies, giving us time to unpack and settle down.
Relax over Mini-Golf and Swim among Lush Greenery
The highlight of the Dusit Thani Laguna Resort stay was a family time over a nine-hole game of mini-golf – all amateurs welcome, in good fun!
After collecting our clubs and balls at the front concierge, we had such a fun and delightful time at the miniature golf course.
After several tries and encouragement, Little Pea was delighted to have her first hole-in-one! The surrounding view was also lush and stunning, with majestic tall flags overlooking the rolling plains of the neighbouring Laguna National Golf Course. Little Pea enjoyed watching buggies weaving up and down the gentle slopes, and real golfers in action at the practice driving range.
The pool was also inviting with fun fountain sprinklers and very baby-toddler friendly. The water was not too cold and the kids enjoyed the bubbly jacuzzi as we lazed leisurely in the waters into the setting sun.
For parents who need some timeout, try for an escape to the 24-hour gym overlooking the Laguna golf greens or shoot up some balls at the tennis courts.
Feast-in International Delights with Fun DIY stations
The Family Package includes a complimentary breakfast buffet at Greenhouse, offering a generous spread of international selections.
We had breakfasts and dinners at the Greenhouse which felt like a lush balinese flower dome forest with giant rattan and volcanic crater looking lamps.
What we loved was the plethora of DIY Stations across East, West Cuisines at each meal. We enjoyed DIYing our own Thai boat noodles, Khao Kluk Kapi, Oriental Porridge, and Mango sticky rice.
The Pasta Bar was a hit with Little Pea and she built a yummy penne pesto with sautéed asparagus, mushrooms and tried olives for the very first time!
For sushi lovers, indulge in generous fresh sliced sashimi on the spot or build your own “atas” BLT with freshly sliced crispy bread, topped with smoked salami and cheese – yummz!
Little Pea was most captivated by the robotic pancake machine which made her appreciate every bite! If you’re staying on a Sunday, don’t forget to check out the Sunday brunch from 12 pm to 3 pm which offers a dedicated kid’s buffet corner and complimentary pool access.
For dinner, the ala carte menu offered a good variety of Thai, Western, Indian and Local Asian cuisine. The kids loved the Western dishes – the Carbonara was exceptionally al dente and moist with creamy goodness and parmesan cheese. The kids dug in with relish.
We enjoyed the specialty Thai dishes such as crispy egg overlaid on Unami Pad Thai noodles and the sweetness of the green curry lingered with every bite. For seafood lovers, check out Friday and Saturday’s lavish seafood buffet spread from 82++ onwards.
We manage to steal a relaxing moment in one of the lush cosy nooks of Legends Bar while the kids napped. Cheers to our long-awaited couple time over iced Thai milk tea and crispy spiced peanuts! The Bar offers guests daily refreshments and snacks between 3-5pm.
Delightful Treats for Kids at Tee Deck Alfresco
The afternoons at the Tee Deck at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore were breezy and delightful. The golden period for kids would be between 2 pm to 6 pm to indulge in complimentary fruity slushies, popcorn and ice cream.
Plunge into the pool to work off their sugar high right after that! We also enjoyed the refreshing lemongrass welcome drinks and finger licking good tacos. Kids eat for free too with an accompanying paying adult!
Plane-spotting was also such a pleasure throughout our staycay. The kids were always excited to hear and spot planes soaring into the sky from their room, pool and Greenhouse restaurant. We said our goodbyes feeling more restored, rejuvenated and well rested.
