Boh Beh Zao: Dialect Illustrations by Kuan Eng is a new exhibition at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. Inspired to engage his young nephew, Kuan Eng came up with a set of illustrations which showcase various colloquial dialect words and phrases.
Designed to be colourful, eye-catching and easy-to-understand, the illustrations feature of phrases such as 眼睛贴邮票 (bǎk jiũ tàh stãmp – eyes paste stamp) and 抓不到球 (liǎk bǒh kíu – catch no ball).
