Boh Beh Zao: Dialect Illustrations by Kuan Eng is a new exhibition at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. Inspired to engage his young nephew, Kuan Eng came up with a set of illustrations which showcase various colloquial dialect words and phrases.

Boh Beh Zao: Dialect Illustrations by Kuan Eng Exhibition At SCCC

Designed to be colourful, eye-catching and easy-to-understand, the illustrations feature of phrases such as 眼睛贴邮票 (bǎk jiũ tàh stãmp – eyes paste stamp) and 抓不到球 (liǎk bǒh kíu – catch no ball).

Boh Beh Zao: Dialect Illustrations by Kuan Eng exhibition is now on till 31 January 2023 at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Level 9 & 10 Foyer. Admission is free.
