Tucked within Citadines Connect Singapore on Clemenceau Road is ATIC, a stylish, modern restaurant that gives off warm, cosy vibes. The restaurant is energized by vibrant sunlight that streams onto its furniture, and a little haven that escapes the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road, conveniently situated across the road from Plaza Singapura and behind the redeveloped Park Mall.
ATIC at Citadines Connect – Restaurant with Stylish Ambience & Relaxed Vibe
ATIC is ‘Cita’ from ‘Citadines’ spelt backwards, and hosts indoor and outdoor seating with the hotel’s pool steps away. With its foliage covering the walkway to the pool, it’s easy to forget you are so close to central Singapore, and therefore perfect for anyone looking to host a lunch, dinner or even party of up to 110.
A Flavor-Driven Fusion Menu
As with many hotel restaurants, ATIC offers Southeast Asian cuisine with a contemporary twist.
THIS WEEKEND: Unleash the Power of Stories for Kids with Workshops, Storytelling Session, Book Launches & More
Helmed by Chef Newein Dolph Toolseram, the menu reflects the region’s beloved, bold flavours and his heritage of Burmese, Chinese, Dutch, Thai and Peranakan influences. Chef Newein comes from kitchens such as Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay and Wild Honey.
The menu boasts of dishes that are hearty and flavourful. We were offered various plates in tasting portions.
We particularly enjoyed these:
Roti john which features house-made Hainanese bread buns which were super soft pillowy bites
Pork chop bakar which was such tender meat marinated with a familiar satay flavour and cooked to perfection
Ribeye was simple, cooked well, tasty, and a real bargain with its very reasonable price
- Har cheong kai (prawn paste wings) that are marinated overnight in Shaoxing wine that give off a whiff of special flavour;
- Orh nee tart that was made without lard and not too sweet on the palette and every table gobbled it up in no time.
Some other dishes which were served included:
- Base: Egg noodles and nasi kuning which were plain and simple tasting, definitely suitable for those looking for a healthy fix;
- Proteins: Brick chicken and fried oyster mushrooms while not my favourite, still very tasty although not as memorable as the others mentioned above;
- Sides: Grilled hispi cabbage that tasted mainly of bonito, which meant it was sufficiently salted but tasted primarily of bonito.
