Happy 2016! Many of you might still be humming in low gear for the first week back to school and work, so check out our picks of relaxing and non-stressful activities the whole family can enjoy together.

1. Go for an E3 immersion

Ever wanted to explore the deep sea, soar like a bird over cityscapes, or even take a trip to outer space? Now you can get a sense of what all these environments might be like via the new E3 (E-mmersive Experiential Environments) exhibition at the Science Centre, which uses virtual reality technologies to transport you to these normally inaccessible places.

2. Treasures of the World from the British Museum

Till 29 May, 10 am to 7 pm

Basement Gallery, National Museum of Singapore

The British Museum in London is home to one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of historical and cultural artefacts from all around the world. Now, you can view a selection of its treasures right here in Singapore and learn some fascinating things through the informative title cards that accompany each item. There are also two Young Explorers’ Zones for kids age four to 12, where they can try out various activity cards or get an up-close look at rocks and minerals using pocket microscopes.

3. Open Farm Community Social Market #2

9 to 10 Jan, 10 am to 4 pm

Open Farm Community Carpark and Cafe Terrace

Enjoy a laidback day outdoors amid fresh produce and gourmet treats at this curated farmers’ market organised by the eponymous restaurant. There will also be workshops and lessons on topics such as urban farming, soap-making, yoga and even bee-keeping.

4. The Future of Us

Till 8 March, 9 am to 9 pm

Near Bayfront MRT Station

After weeks of being completely snapped up, weekend tickets are finally available for this exhibition on where Singapore is headed in the future and the hopes and dreams of its citizens. Admission is free but you need to pre-book your tickets online so hurry. Learn more.

5. With Love from Snoopy, Charlie Brown & the Peanuts Gang Exhibition

Till 30 April, 10 am to 7 pm

Singapore Philatelic Museum

Love Snoopy and the romantic idea of letter-writing and post? Then you’d enjoy this exhibition, which features things like stamp artworks and first-day covers issued by various countries. You can also learn more about comics’ creator, Charles Schulz, and how he came up with these iconic characters, as well as view Peanuts-related collectibles from private collectors.
