Not only is this weekend the start of the September term break, it’s also when the lead-up to the Mid-Autumn Festival begins. What does this mean? Plenty of fun things in the works, of course, with many of them taking place from evening late into the night!

2. Kids World Fair 2016

It’s education, health and fun all under one roof at this fair. Look forward to meet-and-greets with several popular characters, free health checks and skills assessments, free trial classes from various enrichment centres, plus loads of fun activities like wall-scaling, cookie decorating and even music mixing. 3. Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2016 Opening Ceremony

3 Sept, 7 pm to 10 pm

Chinatown

This kicks off Chinatown’s annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in style, with an exciting programme line-up that includes the official street light-up, a dragon dance, song and dance performances by local and overseas artists, and a grand fireworks display. Learn more.

4. Love, Light, Living Festival

3 to 4 Sept

Asian Civilisations Museum

Discover the colours, sounds and flavours of Eurasian and Filipino culture at this festival, held in conjunction with the museum’s exhibition on Christian art. From dances and a drama performance to storytelling, games, and an evening picnic, it’s got it all. More info.

5. Mid-Autumn @ Gardens by the Bay

3 to 18 Sept

Gardens by the Bay

The Gardens become a buzzing wonderland of lights come sundown, with massive lit-up displays depicting Asian moon-related legends, a colonnade of community-designed lanterns, craft activities and storytelling. There’s even a procession on the official launch day where participants carry lantern lit by smart phones. Details.

6. Annie

7. Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir in the Park

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Look forward to familiar and evergreen hits like Over the Rainbow and songs from The Sound of Music at this first outdoor concert by the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir.
