The end of the holidays and first week back at school getting you down? Cheer up, there’s still fun to be had. We highlight some family-friendly events where everyone can kick back and have a good time.

 

1. Masak Masak 2016

Museums can be fun for little ones too, with the National Museum’s specially curated lineup of interactive installations, activities and workshops designed with three-to-seven year olds in mind. From life-size 3D classic board games to outrageously designed bicycles, there’s lots for kids to dig into. Details.

2. Lilytopia

Till 10 July, 9 am to 9 pm

Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay

If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit this fun, psychelic floral exhibition, best find time soon. With more than 50 varieties of lilies set amidst retro icons like the hippie van, it’s a deliriously colourful, sunny joyride that’s sure to brighten up your weekend.

3. Storytelling Comes Alive! with My Little Pony

Till 17 July, 10:30 am to 7 pm

Palawan Beach

Step into the magical world of My Little Pony, through larger-than-life displays, visual art installations and digital projections based on these beloved characters. There are also art and craft activities, face painting, hair braiding, balloon sculpting and and evening outdoor screening of a My Little Pony animation to look forward to.

4. Ballet Under the Stars

1 to 3 July, 7:30 pm to 10 pm

Fort Canning Green

Pack a gourmet picnic and settle back to enjoy an outdoor evening of spectacular contemporary and classical ballets presented by the Singapore Dance Theatre. Learn more.

5. SmartKids Asia 2016

1 to 3 July, 10 am to 9 pm

Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre

Said to be Asia’s largest educational kids’ fair, this offers parents and children the chance to explore all kinds of education and enrichment options while having fun. Kids can look forward to meet-and-greet events and stage performances, as well as try their hand at various trial activities. More info.

6. Dance Extravaganza

2 to 3 July

Esplanade Outdoor Theatre

Get set to be entertained by this dance spectacle, as schools across Singapore present an assortment of cultural and contemporary dance genres. You can get grooving too by joining in the Singapore Youth Festival mass dance after the performance.
