With more than 50 specially created art works, the Trick Eye Museum lets visitors literally “blend” in with the background and become part of the exhibition itself.
Opening at Resorts World Sentosa’s Waterfront on 8 June 2014, the Trick Eye Museum in Singapore is the first overseas venture by the South Korean parent gallery, which opened in December 2010 and is ranked the number one attraction in South Korea by Trip Advisor.
The works have been adapted to Singapore and includes original pieces such as Merlion Boat and Horse Racing.
A giant baby that welcomes visitors at the museum is also making its debut.
Divided into six themed zones, titled World of Masterpieces, Safari Kingdom, Stars of Circus, Dreams of Fairytale, Love in Winter, and Adventure Discovery, visitors will be reaching for or passing on their cameras for others to take snaps of themselves to remember the visit. The exhibits are designed to let visitors perceive three-dimensional object or scenes – and to step into them.
Some of the amazing illusions that visitors can enjoy include changing positions in Ames Room, and rotating their photographs taken while ‘hanging’ out at a museum and while ‘skydiving’.
“We are excited to extend our reach to Singapore and it is a great honour to be collaborating alongside Resorts World Sentosa in this much anticipated project,” said Ms Sujin Oh, Curator of Trick Eye Museum. “We are looking forward to sharing our wonderful works of art based on Trompe-l’oeil. Our greatest fulfillment will be the looks of awe and amazement on people’s faces. Trick Eye Museum will be a perfect addition to the family-friendly attractions in the resort.”
In conjunction with the opening, Trick Eye Museum will be offering a special 50% off its usual prices from 8 to 22 June 2014 for tickets purchased on-site.
Complementing the Trick Eye Museum will be more Korean-themed F&B and retail concepts along Resorts World Sentosa’s Waterfront. Insadong Korea Town is slated to open in the third quarter of 2014 and will feature a Korean market-place concept offering a variety of authentic Korean F&B specialties, street food, as well as hand-made Korean trinkets, cosmetics and accessories.
