Tekka Online Market is an initiative that leverages technology to help merchants in one of Singapore’s oldest wet markets to stay competitive and reach out to consumers at home during the Circuit Breaker period.

Tekka Online Market: Digital Wet Market

The new online initiative was the result of a collaboration between the Infocomm and Media Development Agency (IMDA) and Mr Max Kee from Lian Huat Seafood. By making use of Facebook’s live stream, it allowed merchants at Tekka Market to sell online to customers who are staying at home.

The six merchants who participated in the inaugural Tekka Online Market were Chia’s Vegetable Supply, 81 Sheng Yu, Haji M N Shahul Hameed Marketing, Jamila & Family Chicken Supplier, Chee Boon & Son Fruits Paradise and Lim Siew Keow Dried Foods.
